I don’t think the Liberals will win going full MAGA-anti-immigration. Australia has compulsory voting which buttresses against extremism. However, they will and already are doing a huge amount of damage to the migrant community in the meantime, and everyone should care about that, including media.

This approval is yet another reminder that Labor won’t stand up to big coal or big gas and take meaningful climate action.

They won’t fight for us.

Not while they’re beholden to the big fossil fuel corporations that fund their election campaigns.

Today, under the cover of the Liberals tearing each other down, Labor has approved another coal mine extension.

Extending Middlemount to 2044 means Labor has now approved 35 fossil fuel projects.

In the middle of the climate crisis, they're approving more coal & gas.

You can't... repeal... a scientific finding. At that point it's just called lying about it.
Breaking News: The Trump administration repealed the bedrock scientific finding that greenhouse gases threaten human life and well being, meaning that the EPA can no longer regulate them. nyti.ms/4rSszQu

Wtf did they think was going to happen when they invited a war criminal who signed bombs destined to annihilate children…a member of a govt already dividing Australians.

It’s the govt people are protesting…not the people.

…and we should always be able to protest governments no matter which ones.

Ffs. Are any mainstream media making any attempt to show incidents like this? Or ask the Commissioner about them?
Assistant police commissioner Peter McKenna: "It was really quite precarious at times for our officers who were significantly outnumbered by the protesters and the people who wanted to act in a violent and offensive manner."
