So we've got a fun situation at work that nobody (including the people paid for this) knows what to do about.
1) Texas passed SB 412 which essentially requires librarians to remove "harmful material" from where minors can get at it.
2) We are a college library--but! We have dual-credit students.

It’s not even just the name butchering. It was the ramp that was a million miles long. Nobody being introduced properly (I don’t think hosts Bradford or Shawl were EVER introduced). Baffling technical issues with the stream. Poor sound mixing. Etc.
Just a mess, and the finalists deserved better.

As respectfully as possible, if you are a Hugo MC it is your actual job to make sure you have the pronunciations of the people you are celebrating down. If you don’t get given a list from Worldcon you need to make your own or demand one in time to learn.
