jrpg isn't a real genre. its a useful shorthand and comparative term (i.e. if you like tales games you'll probably like falcom games) but when more academically discussing things like whether the genre has "evolved" enough or not it becomes tautologically useless

The funny thing is that this might actually work this time. The way Microsoft keeps talking about it this might be what the next Xbox looks like. And if Xbox does release a console like this and rejects the exclusives premise but Valve decides they want to make exclusives? It'll be curtains for Xbox

I think the most impactful book I have read since I got back into reading is Hyperion. Which is effectively campfire stories told across a pilgrimage that leads the book into becoming like half a dozen different books. Like the tone and genre of each story is wildly different. It is one of-
