"For years, a cottage industry of political observers has contorted itself to obscure and occlude the obvious. That regardless of what others see in him, Trump’s entire political career...cannot be understood outside the context of his bitter, deep-seated racism." (gift link)

BREAKING:

New reaction from Leader Jeffries to the racist Trump video:

"This disgusting video posted by the so-called president was done intentionally. Fuck Donald Trump and his vile, racist, and malignant behavior. This guy is an unhinged bottom feeder."

Can’t wait for Johnson or other Rs to be asked about this, they’ll say they haven’t seen it, and then the media will never ask them about it again.
We all shit on the Times about headlines, but this is top of the home page and is admirably clear.

It is so striking to listen to this and then see that PA Gov. Shapiro wet his pants over Philly DA Krasner saying ICE agents are wannabe Nazis.
"We know enough." Watch this.
Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

yikes. just lost a ton (tonne?) of respect for Aronofsky. reminiscent of the motion smoothing your parents don't know how to turn off on their new TV.
First trailer for Darren Aranofsky's new AI animated series 'On This Day... 1776'

This is welcome but it’s insane that it has taken this long for a mainstream media outlet to report on this.
Finally. A comprehensive look at the “neo-Nazi .. ethnic cleansing” content coming out of “the offices of the White House .. using official government accounts ..”

one of the reasons everybody hates late arrivals from the right or even the center is they're all weepy little idiots who want to be coddled and forgiven and make it everybody else's problem. shut up, figure out how to help fix what you broke, and stop writing thinkpieces

BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

But don’t worry, they just need some more training and all will be well according to Dem leadership.
Get this. Per AP this began when DHS MISTAKENLY targeted a guy with a name similar to a sex offender. He let his girlfriend's cousin borrow his car, which ICE pulled over (3 degrees removed from the error) then broke into the driver's DAD's house (4 degrees) detaining him at gunpoint with no warrant
Federal immigration agents forced open a door and detained a U.S. citizen in his Minnesota home at gunpoint without a warrant, then led him out onto the streets in his underwear in subfreezing conditions, according to his family and videos reviewed by The Associated Press.

It is beyond me how any principled attorney can work at DOJ in its present form.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

WTF is wrong with this dinosaur??? People are capable of being upset about more than one thing at a time. He’ll still be parroting this same consultant brain line if ICE starts invading NYC and terrorizing his constituents.

These aren't normal times for politics, but even if they were, it's so clear that Democrats either don't know how to do politics or don't want to. Their position on the board is "the president is hated and his goon forces are despised" and they seem at wit's end how to message from that position.

Six Feet Under is the only correct answer. Absolutely perfect ending.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc
