I just recorded a little text that I'll have to read out in Brazilian to a Brazilian audience for a native speaker to check my pronunciation. I don't even SPEAK Portuguese!

Maybe I’m not paying attention or I am focusing elsewhere, but there is a lack in even the barebones acknowledgement of US Black History Month this year by big corporations. As much as it felt tokenistic in the past, It’s really apparent now.

Update on the Polenta situation:
Polenta turned out fine! I added some herbes de provence, pepper, and quite a bit of butter and of course some Parmigiano Reggiano to the polenta.
And then, a nice and tender beef brisket with a honey-based BBQ-style sauce to go with it. And there are leftovers!

Just being in Notting Hill in the 90s: Neil Innes,composer of Monty Python songs asking whether I minded him sharing the table for breakfast. Brett Anderson (partnered with a friend‘s housemate) picking up the phone, chatting with him for a while before I recognize the voice.
One of our managers is Kevin & was in school with Goldie
Kevin was working security at a Glasto green room when up walks Goldie
