I know the usual people are moaning about it but I think it's cool that #StarTrek can now casually introduce a new female captain and not make a song and dance about it. Janeway and Burnham led the way!

the 80s had a high density of celebrities whose authenticity was hard to figure out, as a kid. like, was Mr. T a real guy? he was like that in shows/movies but also in interviews? or pee wee, elvira, max headroom, various wrestlers. even alf was on celebrity squares. it was a confusing time.

It took #StarTrek 35 years to reveal why the Picards spoke with an English accent so we can wait a few more weeks to learn why female Jem'Hadar exist!
Now that IS the question I'm waiting to be answered, with bated breath. Did Thok grow up in Britain? Or did she just go to school there and adopted the accent like certain other British speakers on #StarTrek? 😉

I feel that the best way to combat all the negativity towards #StarTrek and other long running franchises is for the characters to pause every few minutes to explain how anything new fits to the audience's narrow interpretation of the canon.

#StarTrekStarfleetAcademy Was FANTASTIC! Great performances from the entire cast (Sandro Rosta is a revelation!) and above all a feeling of hope for the future, that is so necessary now. Plus, Holly Hunter's Captain Ake is a VIBE
