In the US, the Left isn't allowed to have its own spaces. We see it with the constant tsk-tsking about BlueSky's "echo chamber", and here it is again with the bashing of MSNBC, which is mostly centrist.
The Right, however, can have *multiple* social media and news networks exclusive for them.

the closest the U.S. gets to a "progressive" cable news network is centrist Comcast-owned MSNBC, so of course the OBVIOUS response to authoritarianism is to make it even friendlier to right wing ideology
