Folks who are going to APS next summer: @olinotom.bsky.social and I are thinking of proposing a symposium on rethinking/reconceptualizing comorbidity (still finalizing a specific topic) and are looking for a couple of other folks to present. Anyone potentially interested? Feel free to DM!

My 8th grader had a lab report to finish this weekend. I plotted his data and estimated a linear regression model. The model explained 98.8% of the variance! I was so jealous... the lab applied a constant heat source to an initial mixture of ice water, but still! 98.8%!!

And very concerning language about clinical psych students. Sounds like they’re not eligible, even if the project goals aren’t focusing on clinical outcomes…
NSF GRFP is out 2.5 months late w/key changes

1. 2nd year graduate students not eligible.

2. "alignment with Administration priorities"

3. Unlike prior years, they DO NOT specify the expected number of awards... that is a BIG problem.

The #NSFGRFP solicitation is out. Deadlines are pushed to Nov. 10, 12, 13, 14. However, 2ND-YEAR GRADUATE STUDENTS ARE NO LONGER ELIGIBLE. This is unfair to those who delayed applying or who withdrew last year due to missing letters (please contact me if this is you).

The deadline for the 2025 Graduate Research Fellowship Program is about one month away and literally no one can apply. #NSFGRFP

I'm curious about looking at non-linear relations between symptoms and impairment... Anyone have a good lead on recommendations for regression discontinuity or spline regression? There seem to be a *lot* of methods, but they're not commonly used in my sphere of psychology... Thanks!

We are at this crossroads now and I'd like to show you how this looks in action, why science and democracy are always besties, and why the answer is "no shit in my brownies, thx!"
