We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

Europe appears to just have given up on doing anything technical. Perhaps we should stop pretending & speed up getting to our eventual destiny of a full time holiday destination for American, Chinese & Russian tourists. Gobsmacking read confirming how similar the current US political administration's path is to Hitler's Nazi Germany. It's like they took his whole playbook and are trying to rerun it step for step.

While the gospels say that Judas led the Romans to Jesus, a new theory is gaining traction with some Biblical scholars. There is evidence, some say, that Judas merely shared Christ's location on an insecure group chat that accidentally included several Roman officials and journalists.

It always boggles my mind that I, a journalist, am expressly forbidden from trading stocks, but members of Congress, with vastly greater knowledge of market-moving news, are allowed to profit by front-running markets, and so may profit by in essence stealing from the public they represent.

It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

We elected a man everyone who matters in this country knew was an idiot. The bulk of them refused to say so openly and directly — either because they thought he could do something for them or because there are political and journalistic norms against speaking that way.

Ok, look people: Signal as a *protocol* is excellent. As a service it’s excellent. But as an application running on your phone, it’s… an application running on your consumer-grade phone. The targeted attacks people use on those devices are well known.

The great thing with Signal is that not only is it more secure and operated by better people, but it's also flat out the better product in terms of usability and aesthetics. Also no weird AI bots, solid desktop version, and great videoconferencing.
Whatsapp, like Facebook, is owned by Zuckerberg's Meta.
Signal is owned by the Signal Foundation. And it's more secure. We have a choice.
