LMAO. @kateholterhoff.com accidentally turned on Zoom's AI Companion at the start of a call and then immediately turned it off. It still sent us a recap.

Even more exciting, DynamoDB is now available in us-east-1.
Amazon MQ is now available in AWS Asia Pacific (New Zealand) Region

AWS brings message queues to New Zealand! Because apparently "SQS" wasn't confusing enough, you can now overpay for ActiveMQ in yet another region. Just don't ask about the pricing - it's more complex than a hobbit's family tree.

Ireland just released a report showing the huge success of the unconditional basic income it provided to artists. Each $1 spent led to society gaining $1.39. Artists' earned incomes went up more than their side job incomes fell. And they were happier and used less welfare

there really is something inherently abusive about AI. Buying into the hype means you are perpetually gaslighting your workers while desperately explaining away its faults as if they're either your own or your employees. Very nasty stuff.

White supremacy is not a “legitimate view.”

Vilifying migrants is not “reasonable debate.”

Eugenics is not a “controversial belief.”

Genocide is not a “justified action.”

These are all examples of violent racism. We should recognise this basic fact and reject such politics unapologetically.

- Woah, this is decent
- Oh.....I quickly found a case where it failed
- Oh.......it's failing more than it did when I started somehow
- Cancel / give up

Regular exposure to resin can lead to a sudden onset of resin allergy, where you may be fine for a long time and then, boom, contact dermatitis. This is why we use gloves and respirators when working with it.

I've just become allergic to the word "democratize", in the context of technology.
