if someone says there's good news and bad news about something related to super glue, you should mentally brace yourself for mostly bad news.

I have an application or a browser tab that is periodically making clicking noises.
This would be irritating.
Until I realized that I was mentally blaming all of the screens viewable on my right monitor first simply because my speaker is also on the right.
Now I'm just laughing at human brains.

I try so hard to teach my children about having a good moral compass
And then they go and leave their Halloween candy bags unattended directly outside my office while they're at school
And frankly it's just rude to make me model the behavior back to them

Double-entry accounting is one of the underrated "this changed the world" innovations.
Everyone gets excited about the Italian art renaissance and no one gets excited about the Italian accounting renaissance, and that's a damn shame.

arguably half of my job is explaining the basics of double entry bookkeeping so i think i should add "ACTUALLY understands debits vs credits" on my resume

today I realized I apparently haven't logged into facebook since sometime before June 26 2023.
I know the date because that's the timestamp of the oldest of many messages I had waiting for me.
It was an invitation to a friend's backyard BBQ.
I RSVP'd my regrets.

Legit question, not bait: if someone sends out a group email asking for everyone to vote on which day to meet up, is the polite thing to reply all or not?
I instinctively avoid reply all, but maybe I'm putting too much strain on the originator by dropping everyone else from the message?
