It should be entirely possible and affordable to deliver this. It could create loads of jobs, free up large swathes of existing network for local/regional rail and freight and end most internal flights.

One can dream.

Enniskillen is one of the few towns in the north with a thriving town centre.

If the only lesson that politicians learn from the Very Expensive Bike Shed Story is "don't build any bike sheds ever", then that's a disaster.
