love this thread though would also love to see more throuples on television. it would just be cool! (i realize i am missing the point)
Someone at the TVL NYCC panel asked if the writers had considered "solving" the louis-lestat-armand love triangle with a throuple and the response was an emphatic NO (lol) and i have a take brewing that readers/fans are drawn to imagining solutions where writers are more about loving problems

i mean for sure these categories are not so static, plenty of solvers write, plenty of fans love problems, plenty of writers are fans, yadda yadda. and we all love a blorbo. but yes the popular tendency to treat the writer as no more than a blorbo delivery mechanism is really not good

which is why fandom as a site of exchange between writers and readers/fans is also a site of contestation. some fans really seem to hate the creators of the thing they love, as if they resent their power to impose problems. even when they don't there's for sure a kind of jockeying that goes on

as someone with amateur experience with all three (and not an especially visual thinker (lol)): it's so hard dude. worth it, but hard.
Comics are actually very difficult to write if you’re coming from a prose-writing background.

It’s a VERY different skillset from prose—in fact, it’s closer to writing a screenplay than a novel. You gotta know enough about film language and camera to make the comic panels & art *mean* something.
you cannot be telling bad prose authors that they should pivot to writing graphic novels instead bc of their bad prose. Hello

I can’t believe they sent out this misleading email again!

a.) This guy never worked at Universal Pictures.

b.) He formerly (not even currently, as implied here!) worked at Universal Music Group, a separate company that does … music.

Come on! Have some integrity.

In 2024, there were 566.

369 of them fly free.

We did that. We fixed it.

The number of times I see gg boiled down to “gamers mad at women” that leaves the racists, antisemites, homophobes et all out, or the fact that it was a calculated act of domestic violence, or that he did it in response to me getting an abortion… that context is really relevant to why it blew up!
