HALLOWEEN TEAM: SHADOWS comic book series is out now! https://a.co/d/dbPDyD3
Didn’t think I could be even more sickened by ICE, but here we are. And the worst part, other than the fact that they are cold blooded murderers, is that this administration holds them accountable for nothing. There’s blood on the hands of Trump and every single person who enables these Nazi thugs.

Believe it or not, I had never actually seen A FEW GOOD MEN until tonight. I thought I knew the movie based on cultural osmosis, but I'm glad I finally watched it from start to finish (vs. seeing random snippets via TNT back in the day). Disturbingly, lots of parallels to what's happening now w/ICE.

I've been a bit radio silent on my comic book, HALLOWEEN TEAM, as of late.

Unfortunately, the series (and its in-progress sequel series Halloween Team: Shadows) is no longer being published by Comicker Press.

Where do we go from here? TBD.

But one way or another ... Halloween Team will return.

As a man who was once a young boy who loved He-Man & The Masters of the Universe, I was sort of excited for this movie, sort of worried, and very unsure of what to expect. But this trailer looks ... pretty cool? I'm onboard, baby. "I have the powerrrrrrrrr!"

#OSCAR NOMINATION initial thoughts:

- Shocked F1 got in as a Best Picture nominee - I don't think a ton of people had this on their bingo card. But I think it's the kind of movie that Hollywood would love to make more of though and to have succeed, so that might be what it has going for it.

As always … incredible.

Movies are the best.

For our own sakes, we need to do what we can to salvage this. We need to get Trump and MAGA out of office and start over as soon as humanly possible. We need to work to repair what has been ruined by a delusional madman and his brainwashed followers.

Why are so many prominent people I otherwise admire - from politicians to filmmakers - still using Twitter as their primary social platform?
January 21, 2026 at 1:47 AM
We have a major "paying attention to the what's happening in the world" problem. People are barely paying attention. Their algorithms dictate what they know. So people wondering how Trump having a totally deranged press conference today will affect him? Sadly, most people won't be paying attention.

Kicked off "JaNOIRary" - with what is to me the quintessential film noir, THE MALTESE FALCON. Hadn't seen this one in many years, but man, it's so great. Love all of the performances, love the vibes, and love that crackling dialogue. They don't make 'em like this anymore. You might even say it's ...

One other random takeaway from 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is that Jack O’Connell should 100% play Ozzy Osbourne in a biopic.

Really enjoyed the first episode of GAME OF THRONES: A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS. It had a lighter and more whimsical tone than other GoT series, but they really made it work. Lead actor Peter Claffey quickly won me over as Dunc. This has all the makings of a fantastic underdog fantasy epic.

The Chevy Chase CNN doc just sort of made me depressed about the entertainment industry. The enabling of toxicity, the massive egos, the lack of looking out for people on a human level. I hope we have and will continue to find a better way.

Jane Wickline on SNL Weekend Update talking about a button every day for 365 days was gold. "HEY SO IT ACTUALLY ONLY HAS TO MAKE SENSE TO ME FOR ME TO DO IT."

No spoilers but my takeaway from 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is that it’s about how the world we live in today is one that puts its trust in false gods and prophets and how that has led to chaos and evil. But the one thing that will ultimately save us is to bring back The Dream of the 90’s.

Back from a visit to The Bone Temple ...

... and this movie completely rocks! 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE is a bleak, brutal, but also very darkly funny and entertaining film. Ralph Fiennes and Jack O'Connell are both awesome here. And that one climactic Fiennes scene: hot damn! Bring on Pt. 3!

Watching Rob Reiner classics this weekend, and kicked things off with a movie I’d never actually seen before: STAND BY ME.

While not the flashiest director, Reiner truly was a master storyteller. He brilliantly framed his sequences in ways that always put the characters and their emotions first.

Thought the pilot episode of STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY was a lot of fun!

Several of the characters really popped from the get-go. The Klingon raised to be un-Klingon like. The hologram girl trying to understand how to act human.

A good start overall. I’m definitely curious to see more.

This has been a rough week, but all week long my refrain has been ... I just need to make it to this weekend, so I can visit The Bone Temple.

Who else will be paying a visit to The Bone Temple this weekend?

(seriously though, I am ridiculously excited for more 28 Years Later!)

David Finch’s art for the new comic series Skinbreaker (written by Robert Kirkman) is some of the most insanely detailed, dynamic, and impressive comic book art I’ve ever seen. Wow.

Can all these Nazis just admit they're Nazis so we can stop dancing around it? Suffice it to say, this is very bad.
At a time when multiple federal departments run by Donald Trump have posted Nazi slogans or imagery or songs in the last week—with the total number of incidents being impossible to count just on one hand—Trump is now demanding lists of Jews from U.S. institutions.

Time to wake the fuck up, all.

Rewatched DICK TRACY for the first time since I was very young. I really enjoyed it and it's not quite like anything else. Some of the lines Madonna says in this movie though ... they really got away with A LOT for a movie that was ostensibly for kids!

Hey #PortfolioDay

Writer here. In 2025, I released the first issue of Halloween Team: Shadows (the sequel series to Halloween Team), with more on the way. I also had a short story in It's A Horror Show: The Found Footage Anthology.

Hoping this is just the beginning of my comics-writing journey!

Belated Golden Globes thoughts:

- Nikki Glaser was fantastic and so funny.
- The podcasting segment was a major nerd-out moment. Griffin Newman! Marc Maron locking the gates! Except, why wasn't WTF nominated for its final year?
- SO many amazing movies in 2025. Happy for all the winners.
