I’ve been struggling with a slowly dying keyboard for months. So I finally got a new one! She’s a beaut.
The pain of “I never got to tell them” is far worse than the fear of “what if they think I’m weird?”
If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼

I agree with the author entirely, it's such a great series. There are few things that make me drop everything faster than getting a notification of a new episode of "That Time on Murder, She Wrote."

The ever-present concern with being a stress baker is that others may start actively hoping for misfortunes to befall you and/or your sports teams.

Kentucky v Tennessee, women's edition this time. 🏀 Tuned in about halfway through 2Q to a tied game. Tennessee has since pulled ahead.

The emotional support sports team is load bearing tonight. A UK win would sure be nice. But odds are looking good for the SC game if not.

Three of my teams are playing simultaneously, but I think I’ve chosen correctly which to watch- my #1 vs a team I loathe. High risk, high reward. Tied at halftime. Go, Wildcats, go! 🏀

Gliophorus mushrooms are the coolest. Their slight transparency and range of colors make them the best!

Afton is a local celebrity around these parts, well-known for having the best baking skills of anyone in the neighborhood. They have one of those little lending libraries but usually put cupcakes in it or loaves of banana bread to use up the brown ones from the freezer. All the neighbors rave.

COMEBACK CATS!! 👏😼

Absolutely insane second half! Kentucky behind Tennessee the entire game, then pulls ahead for the win in the last 35 seconds, 80-78. Oweh and Aberdeen on 🔥!

And then a fight breaks out on the court when UT shoves my guy Oweh!? Is that what you’re Volunteering for!?

I’m not mature enough to keep a straight face when I hear the commentators say things like “attack the rim” and “ball handling responsibility.” 🏀

How cool is this- a magazine of creative works by neurodivergent, disabled, and chronically ill people!?

And my friend’s in the first issue!
Here’s a pretty pic to go with my news that I’m in issue one of Cinder Magazine, on presale now!! I’m beyond excited about it.

Quote this with the unlikely scenario where you would be the superhero who has come to the rescue.

"Oh no, we need someone who can make a ton of obscure references to the We Are Klang television show, immediately!"

(kicks down the door, holding a Mr Schnitzer replica) "FOIL HORSE!"

Yesterday two of my teams won at home, let’s hope that luck continues for the Kentucky and South Carolina women today! I had to step out during the SC game - please crush it in my absence. 🙏 🏀

I appreciate all the people reminding folks to take refuge in small joys. I know it can sound self-serving or quietist to champion hobbies & self-compassion in the middle of political upheaval, but your boldest, most powerful self is rested, centred & happy. Also, you deserve joy.

I've been slacking on basketball season because of (gestures at the state of things) but starting off with women's Richmond v Davidson. 🏀

WHAT A GAME to tune in for! Going into double overtime, Maggie Doogan is on FIRE! #ncaa

It is OK to put down your phone

You have seen the horror

You will not be able to do anything about it until you put your phone down

Put your phone down. Close your eyes. Say a prayer to whatever divine power you believe in, even if it’s just yourself

Don’t stop until you feel stillness

If I had a nickel for every time I've gotten internationally crowdworked over Zoom, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird (delightful) that it's happened twice.

This really is unreasonably good, and it would be an excellent time to hop in and catch up. You won’t regret it.
Episode six will be out tomorrow, after which there's a two-week break (25 eps in total). It has been lovely how people have responded to this. You might like it: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m...

It's ok if you haven't done your laundry, or written a short story about ghost cats, or discovered the mossy forgotten tomb of an ancient forest god.
I know you're trying your best, and that's all any of us can do.
Carry on.

I can’t think of a better Christmas morning than sitting down to watch a new episode of NMJ with a perfectly fried egg (crispy edges, runny yolk), a heavy splash of amaretto in my coffee, and two chocolate oranges in my stocking.
