Oh, wish I could have seen that one!

In general I’m excited to find anything I haven’t had before… kangaroo burger, alligator fritters, deer liver stew, lengua tacos, peanut butter bacon cheeseburgers. All sorts of fermented foods. Mystery fruits and veg in Asian markets. I’ll try basically anything.

Cockles and laverbread was probably the most notable of the past year, I had no idea what the heck I was ordering but a random woman on the train insisted I’d shame my grandmother if I didn’t try it.

(The laverbread’s the seaweed in the container, not the Welsh cakes in the bag.)

Crocheting is primarily a way for me to keep my hands busy and inflict the yarn I’ve bought upon my loved ones. So I can then buy more yarn.

Your lack of endorsement is far less of a deterrent than the eternal enemy of the North American Britcom fan: the region lock.

Thank you! I knew someone would pop up with the answer!

I can’t wait to hear everythinggggg. 💕

I can’t believe you’ve just convinced me to buy a DVD in 2025.

Fine. I’ll make you sign it during your aquarium world tour. I have venue suggestions, of course.

Bristol's got an octopus...

Mark, have you done a show in an aquarium yet?

See, I knew you underestimated your combat skills. They heard someone was trying to set up a fight and said "nope- not until the humans are extinct. Can't risk the dickbelt garrote."

(Thank you for sharing this! He's got a book! He's got hour long lectures on Youtube about evolutionary biology!)

You're very welcome! I sent Simon a message. 💕

I'm SO torn.

Normally I try to just "go along for the ride" and not work too hard to figure out things. I like to be surprised by an ending.

But... I really like a puzzle, too... and the thought of covering my wall with post-it notes has me practically salivating...

Oh god. I hadn't even gotten past trying to figure out which tab on my podcast spreadsheet this will live in (does it go in the "hosted by MW" category? does it need a new one?) and now I've got SUSPECT TRACKING to consider...

I’ve been hoping you’d tackle a murder mystery since I heard you talking about Orient Express (my first was And Then There Were None- similar age, also went down the Christie rabbit hole) and I absolutely love a serialised podcast.

Cannot wait to see (…hear) what you’ve done!

They have excellent taste!

I’ve returned with proof of my endeavours- homemade bread and French onion soup:

I haven’t read them all yet so I’m torn! I’d probably suggest 1983 or Villager but if the summary of another one speaks to you, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything from Tom, really!
November 10, 2025 at 3:15 PM
Don’t feel guilty! That’s what it’s for!

Do you know which of them you’d like? It looks like Simon’s got signed copies of 1983, Ring the Hill, 21st Century Yokel, and Notebook in stock, regular copies of Help the Witch, and I saw another post saying he could order Villager.

Are you in the UK? I’m overdue for @biggreenbooks.bsky.social’s “buy a stranger a book day”- I’d be happy to have him send you one of Tom’s paperbacks.

I dress like a teenage boy from 2001. Wonder if we’re stealing clothes from the same kid.
