i’ll say it again, jennings is a contemptible liar and it is a disgrace that CNN puts him on television every night to spread bullshit
The thing is, some people can make mistakes, get things wrong, be careless, etc. But that’s not what Jennings did here. Jennings knowingly, purposefully and intentionally lied to utterly distort what was said, which CNN pays him to do every day. CNN is the enabler of this.

My latest for @smithsonianmag.bsky.social: Deep-sea corals are under threat from trawl fishing, oil exploration and climate change. But how do you get the public to care? You can't snorkel through a reef thousands of feet below the surface. Live specimens don't survive in aquariums...

2025 was the third hottest year ever.
Trend is worrying and faster than expected a few years ago.

Only when we stop burning coal, oil and gas, temperature will stop rising.

This is completely fucking unacceptable. Shut this terrorist government down until it stops brutalizing its own citizens.
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

If you wanna be nihilistic and say nothing really matters and nothing's gonna change and there's no point in fighting back, that's your choice.

But don't expect the rest of us to humor it. Don't expect others to make space for chronic negativity. Nihilism is useless and irritating and repulsive.
