The bill will likely be vetoed but is almost certainly going to be overridden.

The bill invalidates current drivers licenses and birth certificates of trans people who have amended them previously to align with their gender identity.

This is one of the most extreme bill to pass.

actually communicating “I’m here and I’m working for you and here’s how” is an aspect of governing that’s neglected by far too many people who think the work speaks for itself (or, frankly, don’t have the communication chops Zohran does)

this is how you combat the forces that want to make you fail

Please reshare the below post, unfortunately some accounts with lots of followers have reposted the false claim and loads of people are falling for it.
I'm seeing people mistakenly claim the gun photo was posted before today, but its just how Google sometimes dates images based on the original date of the thread its posted in, not when it was posted. The photo was posted an hour ago in this 5 day old thread

Like, way better than anything I've designed on my own.

By the midpoint of the class, I was pretty bitter. It actually started looking like a counterexample to the ideal of inclusive democracy. That maybe I should go back to being the authoritarian technocrat, that my teaching experience was much more important.

The US granted visas to Jews but only allowed 30,000 in from Germany a year. You had to wait for your number to come up.

Meet Robert Smallbones. An unassuming British diplomat who 'hacked' this system so effectively (saving 48 THOUSAND Jews) the UK government kept his scheme secret for decades /1 🧵

I got sent some records. From November to December, Friend Global Inc. would have paid the full price of $857,708. Instead, they paid $166,044. CTA gave Friend "bonuses" of 1800 in-car ads and 525 station platform ads. If you're seeing ads after 12/28/25, it's CTA not being proactive about removals.

I thought the role of the courts in the US authoritarian takeover was one of the key differences (in a positive way!) between the current US situation and Germany in the 1930s. After reading the text linked here (in German - but surely automatic translation can help) this has changed somewhat. 1/

America is no longer a constitutional democracy yet is far from consolidated authoritarianism. It's important to recognize both of those at once.

the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches
