When it comes to the fate of the Democratic Party, the media largely overstates the importance of messaging tweaks and underrates the importance of the weakness and corruption of the state party organizations
Former Ohio Democratic chairwoman Liz Walters is taking a job with a vendor that the party pushed heavily on campaigns last cycle.

If Trump is serious about tariffs on movies, it's a very dangerous escalation. Tariffs have not traditionally been applied to services, and the United States is a massive net exporter of services. We would be extremely vulnerable to any service-based retaliation.
Trump says movies produced outside the U.S. are a national security threat. So he’s imposing a 100% tariff on all movies that are “produced in foreign lands.”

In my 15 years at DHS and ICE, this kind of abusive labor practice was constantly a concern and a subject of an enormous amount of policy work and training to prevent. Exactly the kind of thing the regime was worried about in destroying the oversight offices.
Relative of a family friend got swept up by ICE. The reason? He had a disagreement with his manager. Manager called ICE. ICE picked him up in front of the entire undocumented staff, as a fucking warning.
