🚨 Advocacy opp! VDOT has created a plan to redesign the W. Main / Ridge intersection to improve traffic flow + provide protected bike lanes and many pedestrian upgrades. It’s not perfect but it’s WAY better than what is there now, and it’s designed to get state funding to get it built.

in charlottesville, virginia, in a park that held a monument to slavery for a century, a park that held a nazi rally nine years ago, a park that today holds a vigil for renee good, someone has set up a television playing the video of her murder.

In 2023, exactly 2 homes were built in Albemarle County’s Jack Jouett district, in case you’re wondering why housing is so expensive around here.

Hey 👋🏽 Cville peeps! If you haven't voted yet, be sure to get out on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4 to vote. Voting is, admittedly, a rather limited way to build political power, but it's still a really important one.

Here's the sample ballot for Cville. Next up, I'll share who I'm voting for, and why

Two tons of bronze ingots, from melting down Charlottesville’s statue of Robert E. Lee, are now on display in the LA Museum of Modern Art “Monuments” exhibit. The @jsaahccville.bsky.social Swords Into Plowshares project will select an artist to use the bronze to create public art for Charlottesville

Wow. The agenda is up for the 10/20 Council meeting... and it includes a settlement agreement in the White v. Charlottesville case.

The city will prepare a Traffic Impact Statement by the process in 24VAC30-155. In exchange, the plaintiffs will drop the case against the new zoning ordinance.

A few thoughts on the Jack Jouett primary. @sallyforsupervisor.bsky.social won for a few reasons: first, she had better ideas. Pro-housing policies are very popular! County politics often get stuck in the mud and she figured out how to navigate them in a forward thinking, results oriented way.
Huge congratulations to @jenfleisher.bsky.social, Juan Wade, and @sallyforsupervisor.bsky.social on their victories tonight! Good things ahead for Charlottesville and Albemarle County!
