Celebrating political violence is bad. It usually encourages more political violence, against various targets.

Campus shootings are bad. They make everyone on campus less safe.

It's bad that what I wrote here is controversial.

BREAKING: At 2 AM, Republicans just passed a bill to defund public broadcasting and lifesaving aid because Trump told them to—they wouldn’t even protect rural radio or emergency alerts.

Congress should decide what we spend and what we cut—not Trump and not Russ Vought.

I voted NO.

If you are sick of NYC now, you will be in pain over the next couple of years having to see that man's punchable face on every Sunday show, cable show, etc. etc. etc.
I do hope that the rest of the country knows that if Cuomo becomes the Mayor of NYC, he WILL absolutely be running for President in 2028.

It appears that we are actively and directly involved in a major conflict between Israel and Iran which is rapidly escalating and the only thing we have heard from the admin is an obviously false denial from the Sec of State and a Truth Social post from the president about peace talks.

What a joy to hear @ibramxk.bsky.social speak about his new children's biography, "Malcolm Lives!" A brilliant and thoughtful historian who filled the room with joy, hope, and advice for these difficult times. The first children's biography of Malcolm X written in 30 years. A must read for everyone!

One of the disturbing reactions to the Mahmoud Khalil arrest is people making things up that he did to justify it that even the Trump admin doesn't claim he did. People just see him as the *type* of person who did the things they're mad about, so punishing him for it is acceptable. Lynching logic.

“The warrant for Khalil’s abduction was signed on November 5, 2024, by over 77 million people who voted for fascism, and 90 million eligible voters who couldn’t bring themselves to vote against fascism.”
I can (and do) explain the "law" behind Mahmoud Khalil's unlawful abduction and rendition to a for-profit concentration camp.
But if you're waiting for the law to stop this, you've got it wrong. Dictators always make their crimes "legal"

Legally he had to. It’s the only way to make their argument. Rubio is the only one who has the thin authority to revoke a visa for no reason.

Also, every democrat who voted for this punk should be thought of as complicit in Khalil’s abduction.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

When you hear Trump & his supporters defend the detention of a Green Card holder by pretending to care about 1) antisemitism on campus, and 2) trespassing on college property, remember that Trump 1) hosted a Holocaust denier for dinner & 2) pardoned violent insurrectionists.

I really wish people would care about Trump using Pinochet's tactics to disappear people for speaking their mind.
This may be the biggest free speech crisis in living memory. The president now bragging about detaining a lawful permanent resident and smearing him as 'pro Hamas', no outlining any specific crimes he is accused of or charged with. This is what a fascist takeover looks like.
Trump takes credit for Mahmoud Khalil's arrest by ICE:

Abducting political opponents is literally fascism 101. There’s no two sides of this.

Even if you think he should be arrested or deported, there is no reason for the government to kidnap him in the middle of the night and refuse to share his location with his lawyer. He’s entitled to due process.
