That £240m contract Palantir won after Peter Mandelson took Keir Starmer to visit them? Government asserts "there were robust processes in place to ensure that government contracts are awarded fairly and transparently" but the award notice says it was a "directed award", ie without any competition.

Americans need to lift their heads from the ground where they scrap for the feed thrown from billionaires tables. Americans are not temporarily embarrassed millionaires who will pull themselves out of poverty by working harder. The system is gamed, they are a people oppressed by the rich.

I watched the Muppets Chrismas Carol last night and reflecting on its message of empathy, compassion and love over raw capitalising and greed. I can't help making comparisons with Musk and Bezos to Scrooge and wonder what it would take for them to tackle world hunger which they surely could.
