What happens in an ultra capitalist society where wealth and power (hard and soft) is concentrated in the hands of a few people, where welfare is non-existent, most jobs are automated and employment is high leaving people destitute. I guess we'll find out in about 20-30 tears time in the UK and US.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

What i don't understand is Labour MPs apathy towards Starmers' destruction of their party. It's like they're devoid of initiative or conscience. Perhaps they are just a reflection of their leader.

Even when Scotland is praised on the world stage the SNP gets no credit

Financial agencies applaud Scotland’s economy, but all we get is sneering. Govts need held to account but credit where credit is due

It shows how meaningless the quality of our debate has become

Even when Scotland gets a global thumbs-up financially the SNP get zero credit
In Scotland, any news – even good news – is subjected to partisan point-scoring. It means we repeatedly fail to have the debates we really need,…

The disturbing escalation of the assault on the BBC should be alarming to anyone who cares about truth, accountability and democracy.
Influential board member, Robbie Gibb, former GBNews adviser, Brexit endorser and previous owner of the Jewish Chronicle, is orchestrating this assault from within.

Authoritarianism can only succeed when democracy fails to deliver for working people.

Authoritarian parties can only succeed when the pro-democracy parties fail to fight for working people.

We need a new democracy and a new party system which can represent working people.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

The fact that Starmer is still leading the Labour party despite their abysmal showing really does illustrate how thorough his purge of differering voices within the party and hoe it has hobbled them altogether. Those remaining are devoid of ideas, ambition, and virtue.

Imagine for one moment that Atlas 3i is infact alien. The people of Earth will have Donald Trump as the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth to represent us. I didn't think we could be embarrassed on a galactic scale, but here we are. We'll never be able to leave our solar system for shame.

Welltower hedge fund based in the US just bought over HC-One and Barchester Healthcare, the 2 biggest providers of care homes in the UK. That's a portfolio of over 500 care homes. A big city has approx 50. This should be huge news, but there is no sign of it in the UK media. Too big to fail?

Every country has a powerful right wing that argue “if you tax the wealthy, they’ll leave”

We need to start calling their bluff.

We need to make it so the ultra wealthy either contribute enough to be a positive part of society, or be globally shunned and unable to extract further funds from us.

In a democracy politicians don't get to decide when we can peacefully protest or what is morally appropriate. Starmer can go fuck himself. A loathsome man compromised like his cabinet by his ties to Israel.
