In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

6) the entire community should be funding the costs of Jewish schools for every child whose parents want them to attend. Placing the burden primarily on the parents paying tuition is insane and begging for failure

I am legitimately shocked at the amount of nonviolent discipline Chicago has shown. I would have expected more violent outbursts by now.
I cannot shake the enduring dread that these idiots are eventually going to kill someone on camera in a way that causes mass civil unrest, which they will respond with violence and end up getting themselves and most of the rest of us killed in the insanity that results.
Here’s a disturbing video from Evanston of a federal agent hitting a man on the ground as people yell that he can’t breathe.

There's a lot of abstract talk about nazis right now and I just want to bring it back to concrete reality for a second:

Those motherfuckers tried to murder MY GRANDPARENTS.

Again, this is a liquidation of the union in all but letter of the law. This is reverse secessionism engineered by a central government.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.

In the 17th century there were quite a few and it ruined people. South Sea Company comes to mind.(This is not a good comparison for Open AI investors)
There haven't been a lot of businesses like this in the entire history of capitalism, where the two possibilities are "most valuable company on earth" or "investors lose everything."

Barring a technological breakthrough that makes GPUs cheap as fuck to build and run, there isn't a 3rd option?

40000 days ago (April 8, 1916), Tris Speaker has a very reasonable response to Red Sox owner Joseph Lannin’s contract proposal that would cut Speaker’s pay by 51%. He (figuratively) tells the Red Sox to let him know when they’re done joking.

The Sox prepare to trade Tris.

Whistling when ICE is about to kidnap someone for no reason is incredibly effective. They know what they are doing is wrong and will scatter in the wind when too many witnesses gather.

This but there is a government department overseeing the sports team. I want mayoral elections decided on "I will make the Bears good again"
let's goooooooo, this is step 1 on the road to state-owned pro sports teams which generate money for local governments and can't threaten to move whenever they want money for a ballpark.

we will figure out whether head coach is an elected position or government appointee at a later date
