The Trump economy brings us the conditions for... anyone? Anyone?

It would be a terrible shame if what all these newly unemployed former federal workers did was to protest in DC.

Now that musk is saying he’s doing the DOGE stuff “because the globalists have plotted a Great Replacement in which they use government handouts to buy votes from illegal immigrants and urban blacks” maybe we don’t have to act like this is about deficits or cost cutting anymore

Therefore, anyone targeting Trump and/or Musk does not violate the law.

The more US Attorneys who clerked for sitting GOP-appointed Supremes who resign over this, the worse it looks for Herr Drumpf.
Hagan Scotten’s resignation letter says it all.

Dropping the charges against Eric Adams to turn the Mayor of New York into a lackey of the President is a staggeringly corrupt perversion of justice and democracy.

i really like @johnpfaff.bsky.social's idea that the council should pass a resolution calling on Hochul to remove Adams and she should defer to it. it'd set a limited precedent which respects local democracy.
On MSNBC, Gov. Hochul does not commit to removing Mayor Adams, but implies she may consider it. "I'm consulting with other leaders in government at this time. We've got to have one sane person in the state who can cut through all the crap (and) say, 'What (does) my responsibility guide me to do?'"

This would be a scandal, if we weren't in the midst of a #constitutionalcrisis

The Attorney General, Pam Bondi, sent a letter to Google and Apple, giving them permission to break the law. A law that he Supreme Court had just upheld. Does that seem right? Or does it seem like maybe another symptom of a constitutional crisis?

Sure! Putting lots of workers on the job market all at once makes salaries go down and makes workers more willing to accept lower salaries and worse working conditions. This is good for the owners and stockholders who drive the economy. /sob
can someone smarter than I am explain in small words how dumping hundreds of thousands of newly unemployed federal workers into the job market all at once won’t absolutely wreck the economy

I would suggest actively boycotting the companies who are the biggest advertisers on X. Elon has a big debt held by several big banks that he is paying 11% on. If he loses advertisers the banks will get the jitters. Rich people need credit to get richer. Stop buying from these and write to their CEO

@mikeduncan.bsky.social I can hear your voice in the not-too distant future, talking about how Elon Musk's minions were able to take over essential US government functions, and no one in any position of authority did anything meaningful to try to stop them.

Honest suggestion for @thedemocraticparty.bsky.social #dncchair meeting - tear up the agenda tomorrow. Don't cancel the vote but hold a press conference on the shit that's going down. Don't wait on Jeffries and Schumer. The media isn't going to cover it until someone treats it like an emergency.
