They were ready to cover up the scene.

Their statements were ready.

The narrative was ready.

Then they killed a nurse the same day the US withdrew from the World Health Organization.
Reflecting on it, one of the craziest things that happened yesterday - and it was clear even from rapid response reports - is how, after the shooting, DHS flooded many dozens of agents into the scene, effectively taking over the block. Not MPD or emergency services, the immigration agencies.

1 hour ago: no more funding for dhs

Now: we have to require these reforms before we'll vote yes for dhs funding

The watering down has begun. The eventual cave is afoot.

(If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to be wrong).
We should not fund DHS without serious reform. We could return CBP to border. We could require warrants for immigration arrests. We could beef up training and require identification.

The list of possible reforms is long. What's unacceptable is the current lawless status quo.

🚨if you've been hesitant to speak up or take action, time to rip that bandaid off.
Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

How do you reform guys who have been taunting American citizens, killing without hesitation and filled with glee about participating in live action Call of Duty?

You can't.

This is backed by research, which you can read about in Why Civil Resistance Works by Maria Stephan and Erica Chenoweth.

Non violent resistance movements have a higher success rate in part because it's easier for people at home and abroad to support non violent actions than violent ones.
It is a horrible thing but one of the *points* of non-violence is that state violence in response causes outrage to spread.

I have no proof but it really just feels like an order from Trump was sent to just go kill a guy today.

As payback for yesterday's general strike. Trump is that petty and that violent.

You do not have to watch these videos as part of your resistance. You can learn the facts other ways.

It's important that the events are documented, but if you have a ruminating or repetitive brain like mine - don't watch.

You can still be informed. You can still take action.

Does it matter? Yes, when we all do it, it matters.

I'm seeing Democrats already go out and say things like "97% of Democrats voted against additional ICE funding."

And that really is trying to hide the lie that the bill would have not passed without Democrat support.
If every Democrat voted NO on funding ICE, it would not have passed the House. But, 7 House Democrats voted to fund Trump's lawless, masked goons, so it passed.

Hakeem Jeffries refused to whip his members to vote against ICE funding. Genuinely unforgivable.
NEW: DHS appropriations bill funding ICE passes 220-207

7 Democrats voted YES on the bill:
- Jared Golden
- Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
- Henry Cuellar
- Tom Suozzi
- Laura Gillen
- Don Davis
- Vicente Gonzalez

One Republican voted NO: Thomas Massie

If the forecast holds, we could be seeing some extended power outages here in NC.

And no, northerners and midwesterners, you can't drive on this. You can't shovel it easily either. You wait this out like a slow moving hurricane, except it's cold.

WRAL Weather Alert Days: Up to 1 inch of freezing rain possible for much of NC this weekend
Widespread power outages and dangerous road conditions will be the main concerns with an ice storm forecast for the coming weekend (Jan. 24-25, 2026) for most of central North Carolina.

Democrats, the supposed opposition party, are currently in favor of funding this.

Vote for primary opponents in Democratic races everywhere this spring.

We cannot rally around Democratic leaders who collaborate with fascists.

We need a LOT of new bold faces in Washington and even state and local seats everywhere ASAP.

The cost of living in Seoul is very expensive but when ex president Yoon declared martial law, the opposition party later Lee rushed to the national assembly and climbed the fence to avoid military personnel to save this country.

I cannot imagine Schumer or Jeffries doing this.
It’s really hard to bear the contrast on my TL of regular ass Minnesotans doing some of the bravest shit I’ve ever seen in the face of state sponsored terror followed by a deep blue state senator posting: “errrm how does taking Greenland help lower the price of groceries?”

It’s okay to email your Congressional Reps and Senators.

Some say you should only call.

But if you can’t call for whatever reason - send an email. It’s more important that more of us are speaking up.

Life is heavy in the US. It’s ok to take an emotional break.

”Finding ways to distract your attention from the heavy-lifting and giving yourself a break from grief is good. Far from being avoidant, it’s actually healthy and helps us adapt to the loss over time.“

You do NOT have to watch or share the videos of these ICE killings. Find some journalists you trust and read or listen to the facts.

If we break each other, we cannot fight together. And that's what they want.
