Embroiderer. Raleigh, NC. She/her.
I got to see the embroidery of Mary Queen of Scots at the V&A in London last summer. It’s incredibly well preserved.

The next step in my silk shading module for the Royal School of Needlework certificate was to buy embroidery floss. I took a color photograph of my flower to the craft shop, instructed to buy more colors than I think I needed.

I thought I overdid it, but I later learned this was not enough, lol.

It would be fixed by fixing gerrymandering, though.

Trump won here in 2016, 2020, and 2024 because certain people vote for Trump and agriculture secretary and not other races.

It’s cloudy, but phone cameras can pick up the aurora from our backyard in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I gathered color options and then used a photo editing tool to turn the background to various colors. This collage is a sampling of that effort. I actually did 2-3 times more!

Thankfully, when I presented the color options to my tutor, her top choice matched my top choice.

The next step in the Silk Shading module was to choose a fabric. And color was a big part of the decision process.

The brief allows us to choose from tightly woven linen, cotton or silk. I chose linen. (Cont’d)

So the GOP does something, 8 Democrats go along with it and we’re only supposed to blame the GOP?

Using your murder analogy if a doctor comes in at the end of an attack and finishes off the guy then yeah I’m gonna blame him too.

On and they’re all in on it.

Kaine went on CNBC and said that there were more senators who wanted this. The fact that none of the yes voted are up for reelection or are retiring *is* the strategy that they all agreed to. They knew we would be angry and they’re trying to pretend that the party is still fighting. It’s ridiculous.

We did show up. The gerrymander is strong.

Prep work for the silk shading module of the Royal School of Needlework certificate. An order of work, two tonal drawings, and stitch direction.

This helps us look very closely at our reference image and develop a plan for stitching.

The tropical hibiscus are still blooming, and confidently so. Even though we’re past first frost.

I went there earlier this year and it was fantastic.

My next module for the Royal School of Needlework certificate is silk shading. I’ll be using the photo on the left as my reference. It looks like a tulip but it’s actually a Lenten Rose, that is on its way to opening up.
