A friendly reminder to pre-order Dread Mondays to read the twisted little short story that @drspookyer.bsky.social and I wrote featuring video rentals and disturbing found footage!
Thoroughly enjoying three pieces of media lately.
Novel: The Haunting of Velkwood by @gwendolynkiste.bsky.social - great twist on the haunting story.
Video game: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. So exciting and weird and beautiful.
TV: Wonder Man. Charming new take on superheroes and Hollywood.

Does anyone else have an MST3K line they use regularly, even if it makes no sense out of context?

Because I have both "That'll keep your panfish down for a while." and "Come come, boys, we must confound Jerry at every turn!" from MST3K the movie alone.

I just was telling my friend this… she wants to see the movie and I was like… it’s the most toxic love story ever
As an English teacher who loves to teach Wuthering Heights, I'm extremely irked by what the newest movie seems to be. If you think that it's a sexy story about forbidden love, you're ignoring 99% of the book. Heathcliff and Catherine are awful people who destroy the lives of multiple generations!

I'm very bummed to hear about the death of Catherine O'Hara. She was so delightful and hilarious.

#SendHelp is a wild movie. Very clearly displays Sam Raimi's stylistic sensibilities from excessive gore, eye gouging, and a sadistic sense of humor. I enjoyed it very much.

I'd get a murder house if it was a deal, no questions asked.
Understandable in this economy tbh

Predator: Badlands is really good and available to rent now. I happen to love the first AVP movie and this is similarly a buddy flick but with adorable sidekick creatures. Seriously. It’s exciting and thrilling but also cute as fuck.

Let's just say the bone temple isn't the only notable bone in that movie

Watched Companion yesterday and absolutely loved it. A brilliant bit of dark comedy/sci-fi/horror that had me wishing I'd have watched it with a big group.

Had the privilege of seeing a preview of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and it was pretty great. I really didn't know what to expect with the weird tonal shift at the end of 28YL, but the Jiimmys are chilling and the story really goes in interesting directions. Definitely worth seeing.
