Fantastic history of where we are, and how we got here. BTW: this history of campus protest is what got us Hart Hall at @ucdavis.bsky.social. And the Bakke case? Also centered on UC Davis.

It's a national story, but it's also our campus history! Read on:

“Epstein Class” is catchy as fuck
Ossoff: We were told that MAGA was for working-class Americans. But this is a government of, by, and for the ultra-rich. It’s the wealthiest Cabinet ever. This is the Epstein class. They are the elites they pretend to hate.

The banality of evil is shocking. An ex-Big Lots warehouse for cheap consumer junk is bought by ICE to ship as many as 7,500 handcuffed human beings, as the Trump regime builds a U.S. gulag archipelago

A massive warehouse in Tremont. Pa. that once moved cheap goods will now detain migrants in an $119 million ICE deal.

a detailed look at the mechanics of the new American censorship regime

It runs on threats of accusations, administrative ambiguity, and pervasive, amorphous fear of sudden termination.
Texas Tech struggles with new policy on gender, race
The system’s chancellor meant to instill clarity and accountability, but three weeks into the spring semester, some instructors say the standards have led to “censorship.”

Everybody has it backwards.

Billionaires aren’t buying up these institutions to make money. They’re buying them to kill them. Same as the oligarchs destroying government and social programs and things like weather forecasting and regulatory bodies.

They’re creating a world they control completely

I’m a NO — not one more penny for ICE without stopping this violence. Two American citizens were killed by federal agents.

No more roving patrols. No more secret masked police. No more warrantless raids. Investigate and prosecute ICE crimes.

Get ICE out of Minnesota.

BREAKING: Tenants across Minneapolis and Saint Paul have just launched a Twin Cities tenant union, citing the fact that their cities are under siege, and saying they need to band together to protect one another.
