We used to have a Constitution, Congress, and the law. Now the limits of Trump’s power are self-determined. This is why we called our rallies ‘No Kings’.

Injustice radicalizes us to work for justice.
After federal troops forced a fugitive slave named Anthony Burns back into slavery in the 1850s, one Bostonian wrote, “we went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.” The abuse of power radicalizes people. We are seeing that now.

What a loser. Can we call his office?
He's not a coward, he's exactly where he wants to be. He won't say anything because he is okay with ICE terrorizing communities and killing people.
Jeffries dodged when multiple reporter, myself included, ask about using appropriations to rein in ICE

I wish Republicans were as outraged that Trump is ignoring court orders and using ICE as his Nazi Gestapo to disappear and murder US citizens, as they were that time Barack Obama wore a tan suit.

It would take only a handful of Republican votes in the Senate and even fewer in the House to impeach, convict, and remove Trump. Only a handful.

Who's next to your Senator's office? You'll need to use www.house.gov or Congress.gov for their office number, then look at the building directory for that office, by visiting the U.S. Senate website or Congress.gov and checking their official page for floor plans or nearby members.

Ah. Organized crime. Submit or die.
it gets darker by the hour
The Pentagon will cut the military retirement pay of Sen. Mark Kelly for what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the Arizona Democrat’s “seditious” statements on a video telling service members they have the right to refuse to execute illegal orders.

Part of the mirage is the question "is college worth the cost?" The cost has been going up dramatically over the years as state universities lose funding and administrative bloat makes operating costs grow, while the services the university provides has stayed largely the same.

Yeah.

A definite side benefit of investing in wind and solar would be not having to literally conquer another country to steal their oil.

Trump is the U.S. inside out. All of the hidden ugliness and secrets inverted to a proud boast.

He's our deepest shame, with overt pride. Our ugliness, paraded and applauded.

He's the Hyde of the American psyche - exposed and normalized.

He's deeply American. And America is deeply Trumpian. 🧵

Since Trump won the FIFA peace prize and rebranded “the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace” a month ago, he has:

• continued lethal strikes in the Caribbean
• bombed ISIS targets in Nigeria
• threatened Iran that U.S. is “locked and loaded”
• struck Venezuela and captured its leader
Trump brands himself around peace while threatening war.

The "Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace" and his FIFA peace prize arrived as Trump issues new threats and his "Department of War" touts its lethal strikes.

"Orwellian is about the nicest term I can come up with,” @coons.senate.gov told me.
Trump wants to be known as a peacemaker while frequently threatening war
The president talks frequently of his desire for more peace. He also likes talking like a warmonger.

I’m not naive about this, my formative political memories are (1) the Supreme Court handing its preferred presidential candidate an election and (2) that president doing illegal wars. But I find it pretty grim that the main lesson of American civics education is basically a joke.
