For the last several decades, scientists have been developing a way to make our maps more reliable with point cloud data collected by lidar. Lidar is an accurate method that helps scientists to map cities, landscapes, and places that were previously difficult or dangerous to access.

This is inside security at Chicago airport. If you were motivated enough to try and bring your pot through security and made it to the other side, why would you then voluntarily give up the goods? 🤔

It's a buckle down, turn on some Chappell Roan, and measure some rivers kind of morning. This looks like a normal meander cutoff, right? Wrong! The channel that lost flow (left side of image) is expanding again, just a few years after what I thought was a full avulsion. What's the culprit? Wood?

First vote for #Orecup! Native copper is gorgeous when you actually see it like in the Keweenaw peninsula in Michigan, but most copper ore comes from other copper minerals. Galena is fun and cubic and a lead ore and in some cases can also be a silver ore. Two ores in one!
