The idea that the monster Trump could end any conflict or de-escalate anything is risible. He has no empathy for anyone and everything he says or does is purely to benefit himself because he does not give a shit about anyone else including all his toady fascist team.
Two headlines which somewhat contradict each other

This makes me very happy and very unhappy. Happy to see such a great character (and actor) return, but sad that it'll only be in flashbacks... But hey, gritty realism can't undo death, so I'll take whatever they can offer!!

PS - The fact that the media was informed of the NEC decision before I was tells you everything you need to know about the way the Labour Party is being run these days.

You would think that over 30 years of service would count for something but sadly not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.
January 24, 2026 at 8:17 PM
RIP Alex Pretti. You deserve your legacy to be that your murder was a turning point. That ends with the impeachment of Trump and the trial of the leaders of the fascist regime.

The task for political leadership now is not just to tell the truth, but to make people care about what is true and what is not.

They know what they say is untrue, they do not care it is untrue.

The media know that what they repeat is untrue, they do not care it is untrue.

Their supporters know what they are told is untrue, they do not care it is untrue.

Telling the truth is not enough, unless people care about the truth.

All fascists do is break the existing infrastructure and harm people in the name of “nationalism”. They build nothing. Contribute fuck all. An ideology that is the equivalent of a massive wrecking ball that destroys a whole country in the process.
January 25, 2026 at 1:45 AM
This is so true, and the UK needs to understand it, because if we're not careful, we will be next.
Fascists are all about “taking our country back” but don’t want to do any of the actual work. They don’t want to set up community centres or playgrounds for kids. They don’t want to feed the homeless. They don’t want to volunteer at shelters or hotlines. Or pick up litter. Or help build anything.

This is horrific. In what world did the man ON THE GROUND pose a threat and especially a threat that justified shooting him!?!? If the White House try and lie through this, and Congress STILL fails to act, they deserve nothing but utter contempt.

What a surprise, the bully can't bear that his neighbour might prefer others, and so we get this churlish response. What a ridiculous man, behaving yet again like a spoiled brat who can't get his way. Keep treating him as the child he is!

Europe is a threat to Trump, aside from those countries run by authoritarian regimes. As Trump loves a dictator, he is fine with Russia and China. He even works for one of them! But where the hell are Congress!? Do a majority of Republicans and Democrats agree with the administration's stance!?
"We must own Greenland because of the threat posed by China and Russia" - ONE WEEK LATER: China / Russia no threat, Western hemisphere is our focus. When says 'limited help' to allies, you can bet they will (in true Trump fashion) in time turn on their 'friends' www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
China no longer Pentagon's top security priority
The US will also offer “more limited” support to US allies, according to a new national defence strategy document.

Even speaking as a Briton, I think it would be great if Israelis and Palestinians could all agree that this is all Britain's fault. If they could agree on anything at all then that would be a start and everything being Britain's fault is a timeless classic.

Thesis: ICE is un-American and the Minneapolis protestors are real Americans.

Antithesis: Ackshually ICE is operating in a long American tradition of racist terror.

Synthesis: Minneapolis is now the epicenter of a clash between two distinct but historically grounded American political traditions.

Leaders are meant to represent their country. No doubt some parts of his behaviour and attitudes are supported by some Americans but I refuse to believe that there is a majority of the country that support his boorish, churlish, selfish, corrupt, despicable comments, day after day after day.

Board of Peace or as I like to call it, SPECTRE. I wonder who will be Blofeld, the best Bond villain in the history of the world, maybe ever. Who deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his audacious attempt at getting Greenland....
