Admittedly 'we' doing heavy lifting there! I had no role in it, and I don't blame those who did, but I blame the despicable Trump and cronies, many of whom DO know better. Trial and jail all they deserve.

But £1 wealthier presumably? Or whatever the cat equivalent of a tooth fairy gift is! Food presumably ranks highly in their current list of dream future!

So did the BBC edit down his speech in a way that joined two sentrances together in a way that changed their meanings. Yes, it seems they did. Does that edit change the fact that they said he was inciting an insurrection and violence *and he self evidently was*? No.

So let’s be absolutely clear here - the BBC said he incited violence at January 6th. If you read his speech, that is true. If you read coverage of his response to the attack, that is true. If you read the Congressional report on January 6th, they recommend criminal charges for it.

What’s the betting countless one-time immigrants worked flat out through the night to save the lives of those so grievously injured & support everyone involved? We’re blessed to have them - our emergency & public services would fall apart without them

It's so nice to listen to a leader who is articulate, doesn't spend every bit of his energy berating others and fomenting violence, and isn't an asshole.

Not sure if he's written anything on it, but I'd be fascinated with @ldfreedman.bsky.social take on A House of Dynamite! Especially in light of the nuclear testing statement.

Which is why in the face of such complete insanity, probably the most sensible action is what the Secretary of Defence does. And to know what that is, watch the film. Which will deservely win awards but should also be seen as the modern Threads.

And finally, what would you do? (I know my answer.)

And the problem with the military is they are trained to always follow commands. And we have already seen how easily people buckle in the face of fascism, so don't tell me we have to rely on someone disobeying the commander in chief. We have already learned that that's a false hope.

Reading Jon's posts suggests it isn't! That it just adds a bit of competition to some existing destinations but nothing that fundamentally changes the game?
