Did you know amstatnews.bsky.social endorsed Risk-Limiting Audits (RLAs) as one of the most reliable ways to verify election results?

Georgia’s successful RLA of the Public Service Commissioner District 2 contest this week is one of the latest examples of this proven method in action.

Our polling locations are set up as best as possible to serve voters - particularly those with access issues. This morning, our office inspected four of our 2026 polls with the R.I. Board of Elections, R.I. Governor's Commission on Disabilities, Disability Rights R.I., and Cranston School Dept.

7/7 - which I guess should be expected for someone who was a city redistricting coordinator.
I love question #7, essentially: What is unusual about the 2025 redistricting? a.) It's mid-decade b.) It may be illegal c.) It's partisan (Yes, folks, two of those answers aren't "unusual" in our system...)

Don't listen to the election deniers, no matter how wealthy they are. Go vote or drop off your ballot if you haven't already, and thank your poll workers! And next time, if you have any doubts, volunteer to be a poll worker and see how secure our system is for yourself!

Every election, it's the same thing. People who think their candidates will lose spreading lies on social media platforms (some of which they might own) because they don't know anything about elections, or they don't care about American democracy.

🔹 The ballots have been approved and printed months ago. Everyone knew what the ballot looked like long before today.

🔹 The rules/laws about the election were known months/years ago, to all the candidates. If they're complaining on the last day about a rule, that's on them.

🔹 The media's call of a race is NOT official. The official count happens after professional election officials confirm and double check the count days/weeks later

🔹 If a race is really close, the media might need more ballots (incl military ballots) must be counted, which could take time.

🔹 98% of all voters cast auditable, verifiable, recountable paper ballots (all except Louisiana), incl. the entire states of CA, NJ, NY, & VA.

🔹 Those ballots will be hand-audited to confirm the unofficial counts from the machines was accurate.

🔹 All voters provide ID in order to register.

🔹 Every voter's identity is verified when they get a ballot.

🔹 We KNOW election fraud is extremely rare. Perhaps only dozens of cases in a major national election. And it's the easiest crime to catch. Those few who commit fraud, get caught.

NEW: "Bomb threats force closures at some New Jersey polling places." The bomb threats are in heavily Democratic districts. The GOP is back to cheating like they did in 2024. This is more evidence of how MAGA is a threat to our democratic Republic.

Bomb threats are typically done by lone-wolf or - as in 2024 - foreign nation-state actors like Russia. The careless framing of them as just another partisan ploy - and worse, as election "cheating," undermines voter confidence and is just as irresponsible as those on the right who claim fraud.

Hard to believe just over a decade ago I was calling Tommy Edman and Will Smith's Newport Gulls championship games, and now they're out there winning multiple World Series titles. What a game... extra innings in Game 7! Congratulations, gentleman!
