I am a no on the CR agreement. I respect my colleagues on both sides, but the American people don’t deserve a preventable increase in health care costs.

Pres. Trump has a choice: Let kids go to bed hungry & seniors undernourished.

Or, instead of fighting court orders, he should listen to the American people, follow their example, and help prevent our neighbors in need from going hungry.

When it comes to health care, people want affordable options & choices that fit their needs. Congress needs to listen to the American people & help save health care!

Patricia Raub was a titan for community libraries. As a @9librariespvd.bsky.social founder, Patricia brought support & connection to countless RIers.

Her legacy will live on in the communities and libraries she lifted up, loved, & fought for.
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Patricia Raub following a period of illness. Patricia, one of the “Founders” of CLPVD, helped save our neighborhood libraries from closure. We will miss her - and remain forever in her debt. #PVD #LibrarySky https://loom.ly/c68t1FI

Thanks to @fitzprov.bsky.social for having me on @globeri.bsky.social’s #RIReport podcast to discuss my recent speech on the Senate floor warning about Pres. Trump’s dangerous politicization of the U.S. military.

Republicans’ refusal to fix Pres. Trump’s health care crisis means thousands of RIers are at risk of losing health insurance & thousands more will pay double for the same plan they have now.

@democrats.senate.gov have a solution to lower your costs & reopen the gov’t.
November 5, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Hearing from RIers like Jeff who are facing sticker shock due to Trump’s health care increases & Republican refusal to help lower costs.

Congress must work together to re-open the federal gov’t & save health care.
November 4, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Open enrollment began this weekend. Pres. Trump & Republicans in Congress still refuse to help lower your health care premiums.

Millions across the nation are in for serious sticker shock. Dems are fighting to lower your costs & keep Americans insured.

The President shouldn’t need a court order just to follow the law or do the right thing.

Now, Trump’s half-baked approach to only provide partial SNAP funding hurts the whole country and underscores Trump’s gross mismanagement.

Proud to team up w/ @whitehouse.senate.gov to support Sojourner House’s tremendous work with a $1 million fed earmark that is connecting survivors of domestic violence and other forms of abuse to safe, healthy places to call home.

Once again, Pres. Trump has it wrong when it comes to nuclear weapons policy.

The U.S. would gain very little from such testing & stands to sacrifice decades of hard-won progress in preventing nuclear proliferation.

Trump orders Pentagon to start testing nuclear weapons 'on an equal basis' with other countries
The U.S. voluntarily halted nuclear explosive testing in 1992, though it has the ability to restart tests at a site in Nevada.

BIG NEWS: On a bipartisan vote of 51-47, the U.S. Senate just voted to help reduce prices for Americans and end Trump’s costly and unpopular global tariffs on more than 100 countries.

Now the House must return from its 6-week hiatus, do its job and vote.
Senate rejects Trump's global tariffs, the final vote in a series of rebukes
Once again, four Republicans joined with Democrats to approve a resolution condemning a signature part of the president's agenda.

Maureen is right – if Republicans get their way, millions of Americans will lose their health insurance. RIers are seeing huge increases for next year & open enrollment starts this weekend. The time to act is now.
October 30, 2025 at 6:52 PM
The President’s economic policies should work for Americans. Not put Americans out of work.

Pres. Trump’s chaotic tariff tantrums must end.
October 29, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Pres. Trump’s politicization of the U.S. military could haunt us for generations.

My Republican colleagues must do more than just recognize the problem.

We must take concrete legislative action.

Leigh’s story is not unique, but her willingness to share it and advocate for others is courageous and uncommon.

I will continue working to save health care for people like Leigh & all RIers who need access to affordable coverage.

Trump Admin has the funds & authority needed to extend SNAP. But it’s choosing to suspend benefits. Is it because of:

A) Weakness

B) POTUS left the country for a week & staff uncertainty

C) Trump thinks SNAP recipients are lazy & wants to punish them

❌ All of the above

Democrats are working to responsibly resolve the shutdown and save health care.

Republican House Speaker has kept the House out of session for a month. And Trump flew out of the country for a week.

The GOP is purposefully keeping the federal government shut down and stopping a solution.

Pres. Trump is creating a SNAP crisis where none exists. He is sitting on billions of SNAP dollars but is refusing to spend them.
