Our polling locations are set up as best as possible to serve voters - particularly those with access issues. This morning, our office inspected four of our 2026 polls with the R.I. Board of Elections, R.I. Governor's Commission on Disabilities, Disability Rights R.I., and Cranston School Dept.

Hard to believe just over a decade ago I was calling Tommy Edman and Will Smith's Newport Gulls championship games, and now they're out there winning multiple World Series titles. What a game... extra innings in Game 7! Congratulations, gentleman!

Last week, prior to the shutdown, I travelled to Washington, D.C. with local election official colleagues from five Rhode Island cities and towns (and many dozens more from around the country) to ask Congress for more consistent funding to support our election security and infrastructure.

Happy 110th birthday to the oldest voter in Cranston, oldest living World War II veteran in the United States, and oldest person in Rhode Island: Mr. Henry Polichetti, seen here voting in-person at our Glen Hills Elementary School polling location in the November 2024 General Election.

It's that annual time of the Rhode Island General Assembly's legislative session when my old friend Bill - Bill Tracker for those who don't know him well - starts blowing up my inbox with good news for elections administration.

Incredibly proud of my wife, Hillary Lima, on her graduation today with a Master in Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island. She earned this degree at night, all while working a full-time day job and serving as Coventry Town Council President. Congratulations!

The day my elections portfolio folder finally falls apart will be a sad day. At first the stickers were cosmetic, but after 8 1/2 years running elections and carrying this folder around the stickers are increasingly becoming structural.

Thank you to @rihouseofreps.bsky.social State Government and Elections Committee for voting tonight to advance 10 (!) good election administration improvement bills to the House Floor, which hold widespread support from state and local election officials to improve elections for all RI voters!

All you need to know right here about the morale and state of local election administrators in 2025. There are few professions in all of civil service that have been so underfunded, understaffed, ignored in their policy reform needs, yet have so much placed on their shoulders. This is unsustainable.

Cranston really broke the mold when they built this neighborhood (across Spectacle Pond from Twin Oaks) - even street addresses on the odd side of the road, out of sequence, or BOTH. This causes election administration, mail delivery, and E911 response issues; GIS allows us to easily document them.
January 28, 2025 at 8:35 PM
GIS is an election administrator's best friend... with one glance we can see every polling location, every address that is out of sequence/wrong side, zoning, overlapping precinct, ward, and state district lines, and other data layers to solve voter registration data issues.

It was an honor to be sworn in tonight for a fifth term as #Cranston's Registrar and Director of Elections.
Thank you to the entire Cranston City Council and Board of Canvassers for your continued support, and congratulations to all of the elected officials inaugurated this week.
