If this is right, it’s ironically Soviet.
“More than a quarter of the contracts listed by DOGE were actually already paid, the Journal found, saving no money. For instance, DOGE listed $168,000 in savings for terminating a contract with HHS for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit. It had already been fully paid.”

Beyond parody.

I don't know why Yamaha doesn't get their different departments working together on things. They could be putting out a 6-op fm synth built into an outboard motor or a concert grand piano with snowmobile tracks. People on youtube would love that kind of shit.

Did not know that.
Before Vince Power opened The Mean Fiddler in Harlesden (& pioneered a gradual shift towards venues supplying in-house PA+lights as standard) bands had to carry an entire sound system in+out of every single gig every single night: we all owe him a huge debt. He's buried in Newtown Co.Waterford

Cannot decide what I think about this. I mean, I hate it, artistically. I don’t love the shadiness, the disconnect between Spotify’s public positioning and the industrialised reality. But people often do just want something chill on in the background.
For years, the public has called them "fake artists." But internally at Spotify, the program has name: Perfect Fit Content. My investigation, and the first look into my book Mood Machine, is the January cover at @harpers.bsky.social

I mean if you want smaller government it’s not a bad blueprint.
They’re really gonna try to run the government the way Musk ran Twitter, huh?

This seems like a bad principle.

Bluesky will be launching a subscription service by the end of the year. There are no details yet on how many tiers. Premium tiers will likely include higher-resolution pics, more/longer video uploads, and profile/page customization aesthetics. Longer term, there's a monetization plan for creators.

Just gonna put it out for any benevolent rich nerds out there: the Cartoon Art Museum could run indefinitely on a single $3 million endowment. It's a lean, mean organization doing amazing work on limited resources.
Our 'Pinoy Power!' exhibition begins with action and horror comic books of the 1960s and 70s such as 'Weird War Tales' and 'The Witching Hour' with stunning works by Filipino artists including Alfredo Alcala, Nestor Redondo, and Ernie Chan (as Ernie Chua). Don't miss the chance to see them up close.
