We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

Thank you! As far as I can tell, the publishing industry and the press that covers it have said almost nothing about its Epstein connections through Epstein's bespoke literary agent John Brockman. The silence is giving off its own special stink. This was an important part of the Epstein "mystique."
This isn't something distant or far away. Super-agent & close Epstein ally, John Brockman had huge influence. His 'rockstar' writers, scientists and academics dominated our book pages & broadsheets.

We need nothing less than a total revisionist history of the last 20 years.

NEW: Read this terrific piece @virginiaheffernan.bsky.social for @thenerve.news in which she unpicks Edge.org, the hugely influential 'salon' funded by Epstein & threaded through with race science & eugenics.

The billionaires' eugenics project: how Epstein infiltrated Harvard, muzzled the humanities and preached master-race science
Edge - Jeffrey Epstein's favourite intellectual salon - was sold to me as a gathering of the world's finest minds, writes Virginia Heffernan. The files reveal it was something far darker: a decades-lo...

Embracing diversity is key.
"Rather than promoting a single solution, such as planting more trees everywhere, we aim to support landscape-level planning that combines open habitats and woody features in ways that sustain diverse bird communities and the ecosystem functions they provide."
Planting tree belts on wet farmland comes with an overlooked trade-off
A research team has conducted a study to examine how shelterbelts influence bird species diversity and composition in an agricultural wetland landscape on the western coast of central Japan. They dete...

I think this is about America but just throwing it out there that I have a strong opinion about this:

No home schooling.

No swearing allegiance to anything in school either: teach everyone respect and tolerance right from the start. But you don’t get to skip that as a parent.

Society demands it
Any home-schooling parent (sorry, home-educating, they are really pissy about their jargon) who refuses entry to insepctors should be an immediate red flag. Neglect, abuse, indoctrination, children should be registered by the council and inspected regularly. They are so at risk of harm.

One of the best interviews so far.

Full of emotion, hope, love and optimism for the future of the country.

Every voter needs to hear what Hannah has to say.
It's time for a politics of hope in the UK.

This is what we need, politicians that are connected to the communities they represent, politicians that care about the people they represent:
"As a community, they’re a party that we can really look to, to represent us.”

Love this from Russell Tovey.

"I’m really following what the Green Party are doing, and I think we should all get behind them. As a community, they’re a party that we can really look to, to represent us.”

Makes sense that the same people who tone-police those who call what we're living through by its actual name - and think themselves sophisticates and realists for so doing - are "reassured" by the mere <tone> of a speech that advertises its ill intent toward our multicultural European democracy.

I've said it before but I feel it bears repeating: the rise of chatGPT and similar systems is largely due to two things:

1) the decline of approachable computers and learning material

2) the failure of researchers and developers to address pragmatics and practicality

It's so easy to feel dispirited by or just spend time complaining about Big Tech power.

So I'm really happy to see PAIRS being used as a forum to share lessons from successful strategies for public interest resistance. Looking forward to this presentation!

Active hope looks like this.

If we lose respect for the people behind the opinions they hold, whatever they are, then we forfeit the right to knock on their door. It’s a universal truth.

Zack Polanski gives me something I haven't felt in ages; hope. I feel hopeful whenever I hear him speak. Perhaps this is the future and perhaps we are not that doomed after all.
A court has ruled that the government's authoritarian ban on Palestine Action was unlawful.

Time to stop criminalising the people protesting a genocide - and start ending the UK's complicity.

There were 36 votes between the Green Party and Reform.

36 votes.

Reform are absolutely stoppable - and the Green Party can win with our message to lower bills, protect the NHS and rebuild public services.
