This was due to it being state policy at the time to punish unmarried young mothers with the same drug which was used to chemically castrate Alan Turing. It is scary how few people know about this. heatherburns.tech/2026/02/02/t...

Hi a friend is having a Signal problem where when she tries to join it just hangs like this.

She used to have a signal account a while ago but lost it, is this why it doesn’t work? Is there anything she can do to recover?

Does anyone know? Please help!

Iconic photo
Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

Yes. I’ve been thinking this.

I still think it needs good foundations tho or we end up with unreliable stuff.

So I’ve been writing a much more open web platform in C.

Hoping my timing is good.

I have a lot of fear for younger folks but that’s a sustainability crisis that businesses will learn to address or die.

But I think there is just wilfull ignoring of the fact that many white collar workers have rode their privilege for such a long time and it’s unfair.

I can’t seem to get anyone to take me seriously on this but I am generally left wing yet have seen that the folks losing their jobs are mostly people who have not engaged in work in years. They have not tried to deliver value. They have not learned new things.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

To clarify: people have got more “fuck you” since Covid because they are being manipulated to be that both positively and negatively.
February 11, 2026 at 8:17 AM
Not so much Covid per se but the increase in wealth imbalance. It seems to me a natural side effect and the capitalists encourage it.

Protecting medical staff was a major reason for doing stuff like lockdowns - that seems the major trade off to me. Where there’s a state health system can meds be asked to risk their lives in that way. The fact that people have become more obstinate and less caring of each other is …

And maybe OF is just the inheritor of that but a lot more people are doing it I think and that’s interesting in itself?

I think a general sex positivity in society rather than this Puritanism that the powerful seem to pretend to like.

Of course, always no coercion. The Puritanism allows that tho.

There is a massive change in the way people do sex that not many people really talk about.

Although it’s difficult still some Individuals are able to scale intimacy and it sells.

The dystopia we live in is very much a libertarian dystopia. It was designed as such, built as such, enforced as such.

I wish I were surprised to see @nytimes.com sanewashing this with nary a fact check in sight.
this is a subject that's near and dear to my heart

1. no you didn't, you retconning fucks

2. your decades of anti-governance "free market" "government never functions" propaganda paved the way for the complete authoritarian decimation of labor, consumer, environmental protections

Nobody voted for Tim Allan. Or McSweeney. Or Cummings.

Why is the functioning of our democracy so dependent upon people that literally nobody voted for?

Who are these goons? Who empowered them? And why? What's their agenda? Who pays them?

The way it is is not the way it should be.
Tim Allan may be getting less attention than Morgan McSweeney, but his links raised serious questions - and they’re part of the wider pattern of questionable appointments.

This isn’t really about individuals.

It’s about the state of the Labour Party.

It obviously is more optimal to do this but I do agree they’re harder.

I went to a building recently that had NO guidance and no help. I was a bit confused for a moment. The lift selector was 20 feet away from the lift.
