I’m voting yes to extend the school district’s millage in St. Bernard Parish. I don't have kids, but I’d other people’s kids to be educated.

Costco has 16’ Squishmallows for $9.99 in case anyone needs them for the children or cats in their lives. See Bob modeling the pop tart below.

So, um, I don't know a thing about pet rabbits, but it appears we have one.

The Class of 1965 is here today for their 60th reunion, and I appreciate the update from one of the M 65 grads, who now lives in Portland, OR. He talks about his career as a doc, then a winemaker, mentions the family and his hobbies, and concludes with, “Allergic to the alliums, but otherwise okay.”

Consistent with a court order, Wisconsin legally loaded FoodShare payments to cards. Now, the Trump Administration has spent the last 48 hours making a last-ditch effort to yank those payments from nearly 700,000 Wisconsinites, including 270,000 kids. It's pathetic.

Capital One just switched their debit cards from Mastercard to Discover, so this is super news. 🤬

Mr. Robert Nubbins went for his regular vet check, & the “button” on his face is likely a little cancerooni. 😔 They recommended leaving it b/c of location, size, Bob’s age and the FIV, and many tumors like that stay localized. Considering a 2nd opinion to be sure. Is there a cat oncologist locally?

I’m doing a report on @jonathanhoefler.bsky.social for the typography class I’m taking this semester, so I watched his episode of Abstract on Netflix. I think Decimal is my new favorite font, as searching for vintage clocks on eBay is one of my favorite rabbit holds to go down.

I didn't put up any Halloween decorations this year but I've got the outside lights set to Halloween colors, and I just got a huge group of trick-or-treaters. At least a dozen kids from young kids to teens. ☺️

We’ve decided to go with NOLA Pizza Co. and then they're going to take the kiddo trick-or-treating in the Channel. There's a dog dressed as a lion walking around the brewery. I want to give him all the treats. 🎃

Louisiana will cover most SNAP recipients for November

About 53,000 'able-bodied' SNAP recipients will have to lean on their local food banks as long as the shutdown persists, according to the governor.

I have friends coming to town this weekend for a wedding, and they want to take their daughter trick-or-treating tomorrow after meeting (possibly at Pizza D) for early dinner. Does the Bywater have good trick-or-treating or should they go uptown?

#Melissa is a devastating cat 5 hurricane that will cause catastrophic flooding, wind & storm surge for Jamaica. My heart goes out to the people there. Those of us who lived through Betsy, Camille, Katrina or Ida know what the people there will experience.

I saw a TikTok of a guy who jokingly pronounced Opelousas as “Ole Piece a Loose Ass” and I’m glad I’m no longer a news reporter because I know I’d eventually slip and call it that on TV.

I realize it’s been a while since I posted an animal pic, so here’s an update on that kitten (Ghost) that showed up outside a couple months ago. He’s still here, he’s part of the family, and he loves cheese.

We just finished the first episode of The Chair Company on HBO, and, following the ending chase scene, I can’t remember the last time I laughed that much.

My new Sunday ritual is getting some kind of iced coffee situation at 7Brew before going to the Chalmette Walmart. The parking lots are connected, you see. I always listen to an audiobook while doing my Walmart shopping, and this is really going to elevate the whole experience. It’s a simple life. 👵🏻

I couldn’t find any information about this on the news sites, only on Nola.gov, but you don’t need a prescription anymore to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Louisiana. Spread the word, a lot of people were probably not going to the 💉because of that dumb restriction that was in place.
