The Epstein case is likely to be seen very differently by history. Certainly, it will be seen differently from how it is typically portrayed in the media. My latest. open.substack.com/pub/davidrot...

BTW those protests were deliberately stoked by the publisher.

BUT the game also caused a very real diplomatic crisis in #Finland.

THAT is what #finlandization was in practice.

A thread, to help understand why most Finns are critical of oblivious foreigners pushing the same for, say, #Ukraine.

We know where Barrasso stands: he will protect pedophile criminals over America.
Barrasso won't commit to holding a Senate vote on an Epstein files measure and says, "this is not about truth, this is about an attempt by the Democrats to make President Trump a lame duck president and I'm not gonna aid and abet them in their effort to do that."

If Trump claims he wants Republicans to vote to release the files now because he has nothing to hide, why doesn’t he just release the files today? Why did he order his AG many months ago not to release them? Why did he threaten Rs who signed the petition?

If NATO lets this go then Russia will have tested NATO and understood that it is too weak politically to stand up to Russia.

Acts of sabotage will enivitably lead to "little green men" then seizure of territory by Russian special forces and airborne.

Not necessarily now, but in the next few years.
❗️A deliberate sabotage act was confirmed at the railway in Poland (another location).

PM Tusk:

The explosion was most likely intended to blow up a train on the Warsaw-Dębli line. Unfortunately, there is no doubt that we are dealing with an act of sabotage.

Extraordinary story in Poland. Yet more sabotage.

Culpability not yet established, but all eyes will be on Russia. Poland has already arrested a total of 55 people only recently for illegal activities on Russia’s behalf. Hybrid warfare becoming part of European life.

This was an attempt to kill.

If academics want to have an impact on policy, they can't publish in places where it'll cost a journo or MP's researcher £30 to read a single article.
I now work in the sector that ought in theory to be reading the articles in the likes of Housing Studies, where I was previously encouraged to publish. And can confirm that nobody ever reads an article in an academic journal.

New in PN: Why Trump can't make the Epstein scandal go away

"He's pursuing a contradictory strategy: On one hand, implicitly arguing that his connections to Epstein are no big deal since lots of people are connected to Epstein, and on the other hand, engaging in what looks a lot like a cover-up."

Plenty of folks are overlooking the seriousness of the Russian #sabotage of the strategic railway line in #Poland. Given that such lines would be vital for rapid deployment of NATO units and supply logistics in the event of a Russian invasion, that's strange.
