Democratic Senators are currently giving a series of speeches praising the failure of the grand jury indictments against Sens. Kelly and Slotkin. THE ONLY REASON these Senators are not under indictment is the bravery and service of DC RESIDENTS. Who are about to have their local tax law nullified

Yesterday @freedcproject.bsky.social went to Murkowski's office. Her comms director lied and said he was a policy guy, then told us no one who knows anything could meet with us. Then the scheduler came out, refused to take us seriously, accused us of being aggressive and called the cops on us +
McConnell (and JD Vance’s) absence today means that we need *3 GOP senators* to join all 47 Senate Dems in voting against (or present) the disapproval resolution (H.J. Res. 142) nullifying DC’s tax legislation when it comes up for a vote today (~4:30pm)! Collins + Murkowski + ?
McConnell released from hospital and feeling better but will be working from home this week. Means Senate Rs will need to find an additional Dem vote for a funding bill

Spox: “Senator McConnell was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is grateful for the outstanding care he received"

Last chance to call these Senators -- vote is expected in two hours #FreeDC
Every right we have exists because people refused to stay quiet.

This week, the Senate decides whether D.C. gets respect, or more interference.

📞 Call your Senators 202-224-3121. Tell them to reject the disapproval resolution.

Democracy grows when we fight for it.

In less than a week the Kennedy Center has effectively closed and our local DC paper has been gutted, both by billionaires.

I don’t think immigrants are our problem in this country.

The circumstances are horrific, but the organized solidarity from residents is very like what I've seen in DC. That's why we're going to win

Lot of people looking at this and saying we need statehood — which we do! — but I'm also thinking about Nat'l Resources Ctte markup @freedcproject.bsky.social attended today, where @reppablojose.bsky.social said, because we don't have federal representation, local authorities deserve MORE deference
DC Cir. will allow the continued deployment of National Guard troops in D.C. while the litigation continues.

Decision rests on idea that D.C. has no sovereignty (or federalism interest) of its own bc it is not a state.

Happy World Linguistics Day from Washington DC (neither a state nor a country! Take that, presupposition!)!
Whoa, we're at 12 countries and 7 US states so far!

I thought I was being optimistic in betting @superlinguo.bsky.social that we could get to 30 countries and 15 states but at this rate maybe we'll be there by the time I wake up...

D.C. residents deserve the same right to govern themselves as every other community.

Yet House Republicans, who know little about D.C., are pushing bills that meddle in what should be local decisions.

I stand with D.C. leaders against these harmful attacks.

Solidarity from the over 700,000 residents of DC, who know something about taxation without representation #FreeDC
Time is up. I gave Speaker Mike Johnson two days to swear in Adelita Grijalva. Arizona's 7th congressional district 813,000 Arizonans are now being taxed without representation. I have lawyers downstairs right now drafting litigation.
