My latest piece for Track Record. Last weekend's dreadful Spurs display reminded me of other awful performances, disasters, and trainwrecks. Warning: contains David Luiz, Barbara Windsor, Lou Reed, and, erm, me. Read. Cringe. Enjoy.

Good to see a new outlet for quality writing
There's a new thing. Called Track Record. Free. No adverts. No clickbait. Just decent writing about sport, music and stuff. I've done a piece about the insane levels of both Crisis and Panic in football. And why it's happening. Give it a go.

It's honestly depressing how bad previously respected local news media have become. Fortunately places like @birminghamdispatch.bsky.social have sprung up offering actual reporting, rather than whatever this is

NOTHING will prepare you for this 45-second story arc. From "I'm just doing this because I love the flag, it's totally grassroots, and I'm not part of anything political"... to who actually gave him the flags the night before.

Anyone who believes it is an innocent movement needs to see this.

Debacle is the right word. UK governments between 2016 and 2024 lived in a fantasy world with regard to trade and EU relations that was damaging and expensive. This one is more realistic but has to pick up the pieces. www.politico.eu/article/brex...
