I agree. AOC’s support is much more genuine and based on enthusiasm for her. Newsom’s appeal is much more superficial. His dabbling in right wing media just demonstrates he has no set principles.
AOC has a better shot at 2028 than Newsom does, that prick already threw in his lot with the rightwing podcasters and the transphobes.

Reactionary centrists can whine about "purity tests," but fact is Dem contenders now must have spine & principles. Candidates without that will struggle in 2028.
2028 watch: The most effective ad for Prop 50 came not from Gavin Newsom. It came from AOC.
-Super PAC Future Forward found that Ocasio-Cortez's direct-to-camera ad did better than ads featuring Newsom — Prop 50's chief cheerleader — and Barack Obama.

Folks, this shit is stupid. They have no plan and the only way we’re ever going to solve healthcare is making sure everyone is covered through some form of universal insurance.

There is a reason that 1919 White Sox were banned from baseball for life. None of this is new, yet greedy sports execs saw 💰💰💰💰💰 and thought this was gonna be alright. Just wait until umpires and referees are being targeted.
The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

This would be really an indictment of Merrick Garland for not pushing this harder if he had this information on hand and it was NOT put out there. Clearly the entire 2024 election would have been different.
Murphy: "It's clearly the biggest scandal in presidential history. He wouldn't be acting this way if he wasn't so deeply worried about what's in those files. What we've already seen is immensely incriminating. Clearly Trump was at the center of a child sex ring ... the scandal could bring him down."

One funny thing MAGA chuds continue to point out when Epstein is brought up is a real investigation might rope Bill Clinton into. It never sinks in that, yes, everyone is ok with that happening.
Trump now says he’s “asking” Pam Bondi and the FBI to investigate “Jeffrey Epstein's involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him.”
November 14, 2025 at 3:50 PM
It feels like we’ve not seen the worst yet. Once it becomes clear that Trump is very cornered, on Epstein, the economy, and ongoing inhumane treatment of immigrants, the administration is going to lash out. This is quite possibly how they would do it.
My NSPM-7 coverage has for weeks been met with smug assurances that there's no law for domestic terrorism. Well, the Trump admin just designated Antifa groups as Foreign Terror Orgs - for which there is a law:

I’m not going to lie - Van Hollen standing up for Kilmar Abrego Garcia in the darkest days of this admin was a real turning point for me. It was a brave act. If he’s jumping on M4All, I’m keeping an eye on him.
Breaking a little news tonight: Senator Chris Van Hollen @vanhollen.senate.gov, speaking tonight at Progressive Maryland's annual gala, just announced he will be sponsoring Medicare for All legislation in the US Senate. This is his first time sponsoring 👀👀👀

Why import low wage servants when you can just make college educated people replaced by AI be the low wage servants? Amirite JD?

Everyone is correcting the substance here so I'll skip ahead to note that the last year has been a good test of the theory that most people just want bigotry rather than housing (& etc.) and that theory turns out to be totally wrong for a large majority, including virtually all the swing voters.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Easily the most compelling factor for
any Republican trying to block this. Threats from Trump and his MAGA chuds aren’t going to prevent a death knell to your public and possibly private career. And Donald Trump is not known for his graciousness. If you help him you ain’t getting shit.
🚨 NEW: More Republicans are quietly telling Rep Thomas Massie they plan to vote to release the files, and he predicts this could snowball.

“Trump will protect you… if you vote to cover up for pedophiles… but… this vote is going to be on your record longer than Trump is going to be president.”

This is wild when you consider we had a worldwide pandemic 5 years ago which slowed everything to a halt.

This bozo could’ve just coasted on Biden’s economy but he just came in and wrecked everything.
POLITICO: “.. The rate of real income growth has slowed to levels last seen in the early 2010s, when the economy was still recovering from the financial crisis and the unemployment rate was roughly double what it is today.”

These are the people that were most harmed for what the 8 cowardly Democrats did. If they don’t think fighting against Trump is worthwhile, resign your seat right the fuck now.
Hearing from more people after this went out.

"We're all pissed. This was a lot of unnecessary stress on people and their families for nothing. And if I win the lottery tonight I absolutely will spend millions to hire people to follow these 8 Dems around for a year and make their lives miserable."
I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.

"I would rather be an actual pawn. At least pawn sacrifices are calculated and achieve something. All this for a fucking meaningless vote."
November 10, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Many of the 8 defectors are not up for reelection for a while or are retiring. They think they are insulated from this really, really dumbass move. I don’t live in Maine but I’m sure this absolutely weak willed loser is not the best Maine has to offer.

Other than being burly dudes, they really didn’t have much in common. Platner’s rhetoric is much more populist.
NEW: Graham Platner says he's no John Fetterman. But he gets the concerns.

Are they going to support single payer now? I mean, what’s the plan here?
After nine years, Trump finally drops his healthcare plan. It's chaos. We'll smash the healthcare insurance system and take money away from the health insurance industry, while replacing it with nothing whatsoever.

Why give an inch? Why let them save any face?

The reasons Democrats have record low approvals is because of this Neville Chamberlain style leadership. The irony is Chamberlain was actually doing what the British public wanted. The Democratic base does not want this bullshit.
SCHUMER is on the floor now making this offer to end the shutdown:

Clean CR
Bipartisan "minibus" of approps bills
1-year ACA funding extension
Bipartisan cmte to negotiate on health care

"This is a reasonable offer that reopens the government, deals with health care affordability."

It would be awesome to see just one positive development on immigration.

If you practice in the field, it’s dark. Nothing that has come out of the immigration court system has been positive. It’s been overwhelmingly negative. Punitive, absurd, and frightening. USCIS not much better.
Actually “DIGNITY” here is likely in reference to Rep. Salazar’s bipartisan Dignity Act, the closest thing to “comprehensive immigration reform” currently going in Congress. I wrote about the most recent version of the bill here.
