Now? Nobody in their right mind would consider it for a dying platform overrun with slop.

You know what I'd like to see in some sort of video game/RPG situation?

An irritation meter for NPCs.

Like, a lot of dialogue options essentially boil down to "Choose this to be friendly" and "Choose this to start an actual fight"

There have been many days when "Maybe putting a vent in here will help what surely is just a pressure imbalance issue?" has sounded entirely too plausible.

Entirely too "Well, it can't be any worse than the side-effects of [med], right? And even if it doesn't really help, neither did [med] anyway"
you can be the most reasonable, intelligent, measured person on the planet and 3 minutes of a migraine will have you looking longingly at a drill and considering whether trepanning was honestly that bad of an idea

oh that’s good. not enough of every aspect of our lives were financialized quite yet

Okay, one thing I kinda love about Stranger Things is how that, whenever characters get undeniably pulled into the supernatural upside-down bullshit, they all step the fuck up.

Like, it's pretty much only if someone gets mind-controlled/some such or is absolutely beyond irredeemable that they don't

Yeesh. Today's semantle was brutal.

And, weirdly, the answer word's entry on dictionary.com is literally blank.

The page is there.
There's correct origins, idioms, related words, etc. sections.

But no main section.

No part of speech, no definitions.

“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

The nights grow long once more. The creature again rises in the distant lands to the northeast.

Our watch begins anew.

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

I remember when NFTs hit and once we understood how they worked (a receipt for a purchase without an establishment of ownership of anything at all) we immediately got it: you were selling star-naming as a tech scam.

And you said that wasn't true.

And it was.

We *remember,* assholes.

In short we don't like "AI" because we can see a fucking used car salesman coming a mile away and yet you keep insisting there are five lights.

We're not all stupid and we're not all gullible, and we won't blindly accept an obvious scam.

You fucking ruined every product you've touched you assholes

It's a black box and you won't disclose how it generates answers even though that process can be manipulated.
You've crammed dozens of disparate technologies under the same "AI" banner despite them being unrelated, damning them all.
You blather fantastical nonsense simply to encourage hype.

It's bad for the environment.
It makes products worse but you won't admit it.
Even if it could improve them you won't take the time to properly test them because you're rushing to beat the end of the bubble.
You have no viable business model.
You're ruining the hardware market needlessly.

Why don't we like "AI?"

You try to put it into everything in nonsensical ways.
It doesn't work the way you claim it will.
You don't pay for the work you use to generate it.
Your intent is labor reduction without a contributory return.
You know it's unpopular so you try to hide it.
You lie about it.

Okay, so, I have a *very* dumb idea stuck in my head (based on making *absolutely sure* I was using the proper spelling of something), and don't really have the talent/drive to turn it into a comic or, like a short tiktok thing or something

But it won't leave me alone unless I at least write it out

For the first time in my career, I can’t tell people to trust what the CDC website says. And that is an incredibly sad and devastating place for this country to be.
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

The most searched term in regard to "AI" is "how do I turn this bullshit off" but somehow it's also worth more money than the entire world economy provides.

That makes sense sure.

Wholly unrelated Dispatch crossover I just had an idea for:

Powerwash Simulator 2 DLC Pack - Dispatch.

You expressly play as Waterboy. This explains why you never have to worry about a hose/tank for your powerwasher.
November 13, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Okay, I know that Dispatch's world probably lends itself to direct comparison best with The Boys (which I have seen a few seasons of) or Invincible (admittedly, I have no direct familiarity with - only reading bits about it here and there)

But...

Powered through this migraine to finish up Dispatch, and I'm so glad I did.

The game was a delight from start to finish, but I have to give special mention to the end.

I was grinning like an idiot through the entire final fight.

Utterly amazing sequence all-around there.
