Our friendly neighborhood white American Red Squirrel at Frog Pond, Halifax, Nova Scotia. There were sunflower seeds on the rock so the squirrel was staying out in the open longer than I have seen it in the past. #halisky #novascotia #canada #nature #photography #squirrel

I strongly agree that it is time to fight for people over profit. Housing is a human right. We've lost sight of that.
In Spryfield, Halifax, 39% of affordable single-person rentals disappeared in just a few years. This is the cost of a housing system built on profit. But with bold, policies, we can ensure every Nova Scotian has a safe home. 🏠✊#HousingIsAHumanRight #PeopleOverProfit open.substack.com/pub/alecstra...

Beautiful afternoon in Frog Pond. There were lots of people out enjoying a beautiful Nov afternoon and lots of birds in the park today. And as I was walking along the sidewalk on Purcell's Cove Rd not far from the park there was a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers.😍 #halisky #birds #nature #novascotia

Car brand BYD's new SUV ad pokes fun at people walking and cycling, comparing them to Horse & Carts.

It joins a long list of car ads that sell a false promise of convenience and aspiration while punching down at sustainable transport modes.

So I made it a bit more realistic...

At Frog Pond this p.m. there was a lot of broken glass in one of the parking spots. Sadly I drove through it. It appeared to be from a smashed car window. Just mentioning it in case it was a car break-in? I swept up all the glass. Good reminder not to leave valuables in car. #halisky #novascotia

Spryfield Urban Farm, Halifax Nova Scotia Canada.
I also walked in Frog Pond this evening. I finally saw one of the famous white squirrels. There was also lots of bird activity including Brown Creeper. No decent bird or white squirrel photos to show for it but enjoyable nonetheless. #halisky
