Abolish ICE and fire all agents is the moderate position.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

Fascinating polling by @pewresearch.org 👇. About 10-15% of Republicans have become upset with Trump--especially for his questionable ethics.

Before Trump was elected, Dems didn't trust him. What has changed is that some Republicans are now mistrusting him too.

To be honest, as someone who has lived in Denmark, I’ve felt rather depressed for most of this week. My experience with Danes has always been that they are unjustifiably generous to the USA. I want to hide my face in shame this week www.nytimes.com/2026/01/18/w...

Today, we were officially notified by USG that Pres Trump's memo that revoked my security clearance w/o due process is no longer in effect over me. My access eligibility to classified info has been restored.

On Dec 23, 2025, a federal court ruled his action was unconstitutional. Rule of Law wins!

Here comes another aviation analogy.

I sincerely hope that these types of tools will be used to help us do _better_ research first and foremost.

I fear instead it will be used to help us do _more_ research _faster_.

The magic of autopilot is that it helps pilots fly better, not more.
Did you know that from tomorrow, Qualtrics is offering synthetic panels (AI-generated participants)?

Follow me down a rabbit hole I'm calling "doing science is tough and I'm so busy, can't we just make up participants?"
