Let that be a reminder to help out/support smaller events made out of love and hard work from people who just want to grow a local scene, and who take time out of their day job to run them. Talk about them. They may not have millions of dollars, but they've got heart.

It's odd how Rogue is like 13 years older than Doom, yet we've dropped the term Doom-like in favor of First-Person Shooter around ~1997, whereas we still haven't found a proper genre name for Rogue-likes.

I played most 6th gen games on a RF only GE brand TV from early 1970s, namely the original XBox and GC. It was a color TV but a very early one and the RF input on top of very washed out colors made every game look grey and desolate, which fucked my perception of 6th gen games until a new TV in 2005.
Please share your unhinged stories of how you really played games in the 80s and 90s. I played PS1 Diablo to level 30 on a black and white TV, and was surprised by the colours a lot of things actually were compared to what I had imagined. Hours and hours of Soulblade too!
