Hey just live without health insurance for almost a year because we did nothing to help. Make sure to vote for us next time though!
Shaheen: "I think we can get a bipartisan bill out of the Senate that will address this [healthcare] issue. And if not, we know that the voters are going to know who's on their side and who's going to hold them accountable."

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

This sounds hella fun
Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "

I am having a hard time swallowing this new chorus of “I can’t believe they got this far” - girl, what? They spent the first term testing/destroying as many guardrails as they could, then they didn’t get in trouble for it, nothing got reinforced or fixed, a lot of the protofascism was maintained…

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

BREAKING NEWS: National security advisors are looking into the feasibility of outlawing escalators nationwide.

Folks, I hate to break it to you but for national security reasons all the escalators will be removed. The moving walkways in airports will be allowed until an investigation can be completed

NEW: You may have heard the name before.

Amy McGrath is seriously considering a 2026 run for US Senate in Kentucky, a source close to her & familiar with her thinking tells me.

She raised an historic amount of $ in her 2020 loss to McConnell.

Disney/ABC have a responsibility to refuse to participate in corruption.

Kimmel must be reinstated. If Disney/ABC agree to this extortion then perhaps creatives + workers should consider collective action to push back. Same w/buying park + cruise tickets if they bow.

Weaponized unreality is about to crush people under its fully authoritarian weight
As first reported by @jackjenkins.me here is the wild video of Prestonwood Baptist Pastor Jack Graham playing an AI generated Charlie Kirk speech in which a fake Kirk says he knew he might be killed for "speaking up in this cultural moment, and I'd do it all over again."

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.

Dems: Let’s do this in a bipartisan way.

Repubs: Go away AND die.

This is precisely the problem, the refusal by centrist elites to differentiate between challenging ideas and debunked lies. It's not "challenging" to hear that black people are stupid or gay people are degenerates, it's just wrong.
They never complete the sentence, ie "...educators and students must face ideas we find offensive, such as the claim that Black women lack the brain processing power to fly planes or serve on the Supreme Court or that gay people should be stoned to death." Pretty telling that they don't!
The President of Barnard College calls for more controversial speakers like the late Kirk (without citing any of his controversial views), a position at odds with what Barnard colleagues describe as a track record of censoring events and speakers on Palestine. (1/4) www.nytimes.com/2025/09/17/o...
