I also think this should be the way any marginalized group interacts with dominant ones. If you are a decent person, you’re going to understand skepticism about your motives, and you’re going to patiently earn ppl’s trust. Because it’s not about your feelings. It’s about their safety.

I also hate to say this, but one thing young women should learn early is to be deeply skeptical of men. If they are decent, they will earn your trust over time and prove their safety through their actions. Anyone who rushes you, whether in friendship, romance, or casual sex, is a walking red flag

It is also a bit of a relief because I cannot think of anyone in my family that speaks only one language. Most speak at least 3. My mother and I have used 4 with each other today.

I have deep respect for monogamous people who seriously considered their options, maybe even explored them, and ultimately decided that monogamy was the best fit. We all made the active decision to take our life into our own hands, rather than doing things just because we felt we should.
