David does good work. He did the cover design for my story collection, I BLAME MYSELF BUT ALSO YOU. And I was also a maddeningly wishy-washy client—but he STILL delivered kick-ass work.
Since I'm going to AWP this year, figured I'd make some business cards and promo postcards.

David does good work. He did the cover design for my story collection, I BLAME MYSELF BUT ALSO YOU. And I was also a maddeningly wishy-washy client—but he STILL delivered kick-ass work.
Just weird to dedicate so much (half) of your life to something, and then just kind of lose it and now I feel like that Pulp Fiction lost John Travolta meme.

In 2025 I attempted 10 poems. I also read less poetry than ever. I read less in general. I kind of thought it would come back to me eventually, but I still don't feel like there's anything (poems) in me. Not sure what to do with this feeling. Hoping to figure it out soon...

My almost 16-year-old cat has had this lip lesion since May. It slowly got worse; now it's pretty bad. Vets have not been able to figure it out. Today vet suggested cats can develop allergies late and life has recommended I feed her RABBIT, DUCK, VENISON, KANGAROO, LAMB, or ALLIGATOR.

I don't know what changed in 2026, but suddenly I have students requesting weekend office hours. Every year it seems students think teachers are less and less real people with lives.

Folks can volunteer to shelves books tomorrow-Sunday so maybe I'll be doing that.
An indie bookstore here is moving to a new storefront 100yds from the current store, so today they are hosting a "book brigade" to basically form a human chain to move their current books and god I wish I didn't have rough drafts to comment on today. Be around folks helping a bookstore? Yes please.
